I haven't ignored it CEdwards, I just don't know about other missing kids prior to Madeleine.  I have no idea whatsoever whether or not people sent money to Kerry or to the parents of the Soham victims whilst they were missing.  It's possible, though I agree there has been a recent-ish cultural shift in which many members of the public like to get involved in sad news stories like these by sending money in the hopes that it will do some good, perhaps inspired by things like Comic Relief and Children In Need, maybe..

My question to you (which you failed to answer) was - what should the McCanns have done with the money that poured in in the early days before the fund was set up, any ideas?

Yeah. Charity.  Then saying, "please don't send money, we are helping the police to find Madeleine and/or her abductor," rather than encouraging the great british public to dig deep for them. If, at a later date, they had issues with the police work, well then they could maybe have tried to elicit help.

I'd also, on a slightly tangential note, have liked them to admit their mistake in leaving the children alone repeatedly rather than give us the guff about "end of your garden" and "well within the bounds of reasonable parenting."  Basically, "don't blame us that Madeleine went missing, how were we to know that she would be abducted if we left her alone in an unlocked apartment repeatedly and only checked every half hour or so" *

*note: only if Madeleine was abducted and only if they were checking every half hour of course.  may contain nuts.

They have publicly acknowledged that they made a mistake

However, no normal person could have dreamed that someone would come in and steal their child.

Especially as they believed the front of the apartmernt to be locked and they themselves were overlooking the patio doors at the rear

I hope you don't mind me commenting that your flippant, cheap, snidey comments get a bit tiresome after a while.  8(8-))

So - the McCanns were quite wrong in your view to set up a fund to help them find their daughter with the donations that poured in after she went missing.  Fair enough. I don't share your view, nor do I think it implies wrong-doing on their part.  Thousands of other people don't seem to have a problem with it either, including all those who bought Kate's book, the cover of which makes it clear that all profits are to be paid into the fund.  So let's agree to disagree on this score.

At least their fund is ligit and accounts open for anyone to see. Bit different to Mr Bennetts and Amarals funds. What ever hapenned to those thousands of Euro's,  Bennett sent Amaral? Anyone ever seen their accounts?

Sorry I forgot, one rule for the McCann's, another for anyone else.

In what you has asking questions hindered the search ?

I am trying to understand your question

Just off the top of my head:

Tearing posters of Madeleine down

Continually attacking The Mccanns without any proof and demoralising them  Demoralised people do not act as efficiently as usual

Spreading disinformation and lies like HiDeHo

Altering the evidence /facts like Pat Brown ..................................

Nothing you have posted makes the least bit of difference to finding Madeleine, if she is indeed still alive. Multiple ridiculous 'sightings' have proved that but then of course if there wasn't the 'harm to the search' mantra there would be no justification for using the fund for litigation, now would there ?

Err...?  Are you real Faithlily? 8-)(--) >@@(*&)

Then give me just one example where anything written by Amaral, Bennett or indeed by myself has stopped has stopped anyone looking, just one ?

You see that's the thing about claiming something that's unprovable, you never have to prove it.

Are you defending Bennet's campaign of stalking, lies and harrassment against the McCann family , Faithlily?

Amaral and Bennett kept claiming that Madeleine is dead.  I think that Bennett faced with his trial backed off a bit recently

That's enough to stop a search for a living child

Oh and by the way, I have never heard of you before! @)(++(*

How ? In what way ?

Do you have one example to illustrate your claim ?

Super post, sadie.  There is not one scintilla of credible evidence that Madeleine has died, yet Amaral and Bennet kept on with their respective agendas of trying to pile more grief onto this family with their lies and stalking. Bennet has been taught an expensive lesson, and hopefully Amaral will also learn that lesson before the year is out.
