Anne that documentary tried to make out the man the Smiths saw was the same man Jane Tanner saw, for obvious reasons. But their descriptions of him were different in important respects, not forgetting the fact that an abductor would be carrying a child around the resort for three quarters of an hour plainly ludicrous.

'I do not remember having seen anyone else at this time besides Gerry. After leaving each other, Gerry walked downward in the direction of the Tapas Bar and I began to walk in the other direction, up the pathway. I turned left at the crossing and passed the apartment. I did not meet anyone else during my walk and once in my apartment, I did not venture out again. '

This seems to give  further verification that  Wilkins was on the pathway while speaking to Gerry.

It also suggests that  whilst speaking with Gerry,  Wilkins had the pushchair faced in the direction in  which he was going   (  up the street,  and away from the reception area )   

Yet Jane Tanner says  (  in the link Redblossom brought us above )  that Wilkins had the pushchair facing  down the street,  towards  the reception area that he had just come from   

Her statement doesn't come across as being very reliable at all,  does it  ?

It certainly doesn't. Of course all these inconsistencies may have been ironed out if the group had chosen to do the official reconstruction although I can't see Gerry getting away with bullying Tanner in the way he did in the  documentary if it had.

Faithlilly, hello, one of the most shocking elements of this case was that all of the tapas nine did not want to go back for a reconstruction. When everyone said they would do anything. It is unprecedented.

It would seem reading this article  and statements, he had walked around basically in circles for approximately an hour, probably why he actually lost track of time.  However, pushing a baby around for an hour or so, is a rather long time.  But he was the eyes and ears of what was going on in the area.

No person  would refuse to go back for a reconstruction to help find a missing child, even if they fell out, JMO

The Mccanns were never keen on it, they went on tv and said as much, their friends said they would, but when it came to the crunch they all refused. John, that is hardly no stone unturned is it?

He didn't actually refuse, he wasn't enthusiastic but would do as the others. He wasn't the only one saying so.
