Have they learned anything new in almost 18 years.

The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) received up to £192,000 in 2024–2025 for the investigation into Madeleine McCann's disappearance. This was granted by the Home Office through special grant funding.

So who is looking for Maddie now - what is the special grant funding being spent on

How is this being spent...latest figures

A fighting fund set up to help find Madeleine McCann has seen its value soar to over £1m for the first time since the year after she disappeared.

The bulk of the value of the ‘Madeleine’s Fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned Ltd’ fund has been invested in stocks and shares. The portfolio increased from £848,305 to £955,334 in the 12 months up to March this year thanks to stock market successes.

The total value of the fund is now £1,028,753, up from £921,819 a year ago. It is the first time it has exceeded £1m since 2008, when hundreds of thousands of pounds were being donated by well-wishers.

More interested in inflating their portfolio than looking for wee Maddie.
The last thing they need is an innocent hobo on their hands.

At what point do you think they will be able to start spending all that lovely moolah on themselves then?  Explain how that will work, with the eyes of the world (or the eyes of a few sad deranged McCann sceptics at any rate) firmly fixed on the Funds accounts from now until the End of Days?

The funds are to be distributed to similar charities.

Right, so explain why they want to keep the focus off the German hobo then.  Is it because they are determined to raise as much money as possible for various charities?  Is that their sneaky and cruel motivation in your view?

The MCs' main argument for suing GA was that, as he thought M was dead, no one was looking for her any more. Despite GA's key point that M had not been abducted and the total absence of evidence, the media, the authorities and those in the know continued to talk about M's abduction, never about her death.
Until, more than 4 years ago, HCW proclaimed to anyone who would listen that he had evidence that M was dead

And your point is…?

Well you just proved a point......do you know anything that is going on ...or are your posts just a deflection.

The MCs' main argument for suing GA was that, as he thought M was dead, no one was looking for her any more

yet no problem HCW saying it ...so no one now looking for Maddie.

Until, more than 4 years ago, HCW proclaimed to anyone who would listen that he had evidence that M was dead

Now if he has evidence....he should show it ...the fund should be closed and shared with other charity's OK

What has got to do with my question which was addressed to The General anyway?  You appear to be answering a question I did not ask but thanks for your input, always a pleasure to read your words of incredible wisdom and insight.

Well they, their spokeperson / source, when pressed have trotted out the same adage, 'we're still looking for Maddie', while HCW's circus of ineptitide has rolled on in the background.
He maintains he's wrote to them explaining his deranged, opportune hobo theory; they state they've never received a letter.
The point being, they are distancing themselves from it, and, in the absence of a suitable reason for this stance and fuelled by sensationalist tabloid headlines, Joe Public will point at the fund and put two and two together.

That fund is significant and never publishes full accounts (allegedly) and as a limited company there are myriad ways to 'redistribute' funds, although there's no suggestion any director has been remunerated to date.

TL/DR: McCann's still looking for Maddie, fund continues to grow through investments, can be dispersed upon dissolvement.

They’ve been sitting on the best part of a million pounds for one and a half decades now.  At what point do you think they are actually going to cash in?  And please do explain how they could possibly cash in without anyone noticing.  Perhaps build a swimming. pool complex like Captain Tom’s daughter did?  That worked out well for her didn’t it?  Hardly anyone noticed that did they.  Be honest now.  If they were the evil fraudsters you pretend to believe they are they would fully support the notion of pinning it on a patsy, and after the patsy had gone to jail and their names cleared forever more they could then “redistribute funds” to their hearts content.  No one is presently sending in donations, the book generated a couple of grand (revenue for which they would still continue to earn) and most growth in the fund comes from investments.  Use your noggin General, there is no way it makes any sense to be guilty as sin and not support the notion of pinning it all on some hapless hobo.
