I'm afraid the thread has moved on from your [dogmatic ] claims ferryman. Perhaps you should read it? If you do and wish to repeat your claims you will need to provide evidence to support them, because the evidence already provided makes it clear that tracking dogs were brought from Lisbon.

KM thinks no dogs searched until morning. She thinks that's when she gave them the blanket, but it was 2.30am.

I can only assume she gave them the towel at some point on 4th and forgot. If it was after they returned from giving statements the apartment was packed with people so maybe she forgot being asked. It had to be her, as she was the one who knew which towel Madeleine used the night before, unless Gerry dried her before he left for tennis. Three officers refer to the towel, but no-one says how they got it.

When the tracker dogs arrived it was 11pm on 4th. According to the handler;

His role was to use the dogs' skills by allowing them to sniff a towel which had supposedly been used by the minor in question.

They kept it and it was used again on 8th; Vitor Matos said;

He remembers that on the 4th of May of the current year, around 23H00, they attempted to tentatively identify and thus reconstruct the path taken by the missing minor. They gave the dogs a Turkish bath towel which was supposedly used by the child in question.

I think policemen are smart enough to see a towel when its given to them....even if described as a turkish towel...never heard of a turkish blanket myself

I agree. So the burning question is - who identified & removed a towel from the crime scene to give to the search & rescue dogs?

Whoever GAVE it to them or told someone MM had been dried with it and then given....only a family  member could know this, so NOT police or other bystanders

But Goncalo mentions it so there must be some fact to it.

In fact, the GNR dogs are essentially trained for searching in a rural environment; in addition, the persistence of bodily odours diminishes after 48 hours.

We get them to sniff a towel which, according to Kate, was used to dry Madeleine after her bath. When the dogs finished going along block 5, when, logically, they should have been heading for block 4, they suddenly turn to the left. They then follow the path at the back that separates the apartments from the leisure area. They go quite a long way in that direction. Even if the reaction of the two dogs coincides, the trainers cannot draw any definite conclusions: in fact, it's already been more than two days since the disappearance. What they can state with certainty, is that Madeleine went along there, without being able to pinpoint the date. Gerald McCann confirms this claim: he took that same route with Madeleine a few days earlier.

All three dogs follow the same route; left from wooden door, down between blocks 4 and 5 to pathway, exit onto road, cross over to side of block 6, turn right to lampost at entrance to car park south of block 6. One dog goes to Tapas ebtrance, two don't. All the cites have been posted.

That evidence suggests she got into a car at the lamppost as the scent was lost there.
