I'd rather be someone with sufficient intelligence to realise that there are lots of unanswered questions and continue to question the morals and deductive powers of those that don't, thanks.  8((()*/

"hounding...blah blah blah". "[ censored word ]s...blah blah blah", "no evidence... blah blah blah", "vile... blah blah blah", "innocent...blah blah blah".

Pathetic. But proof of your unwillingness to read and to actually address issues.

Heard it all before.  It's all you have. Stuck record.  The McCanns and their friends were not charged as the police do not have admissible evidence that will secure a conviction.  They have not been cleared.  They are implicated in the events surrounding the disappearance of Madeleine. They have failed to prove they could not have been involved.  This is all a matter of record.  That you, like the McCanns, are attempting to shift the blame elsewhere makes them no less culpable for their actions.

You said it, my. They were not charged because the police having investigated them for a year, didn't have evidence to charge them.

Then you go back to your crazy and stupid claim that, the police having failed to find evidence that they committed the crime then law should be turned on its head and the McCanns should have to prove their innocence. That is plain wrong. Its not the law and its not the way things work. When you offer responses as stupid as that then you have simply failed. You really need to learn the absolute basics of the legal system because at the moment your posts are making it clear that you don't have a clue. It is not up to people to prove innocence.

When someone didn't do something as it would appear from the lack of evidence against the McCanns is the case with them,  then its normal they suggest others did.

The shame lies with you and your fellow supporters that blindly support these people and their actions, thus proliferating the message that it's ok to leave your children alone and go out and have a good time.

There is nothing blind about my supporting the right of all citizens of this country to be deemed innocent until a court of law proves them guilty. That is the rule of law. It is you who is blindly and ignorantly refusing to accept that rule of law because it would interfere with what you feel is your right to accuse others of crimes when there is no proof that they did.

As Icabod says, this is a tasteless discussion now I think about it. I'm out.

We seem to be seeing a pattern here. Anti McCanns are running from discussions right, left and centre. Would that be because they simply cannot defend themselves?  Hideho and Spudgun are the most notable examples but others seem to be following.

Once again I notice you have totally ignored what the thread is about and posted all the way round the houses to avoid the issue of the increased abuse which the innocent children will inevitably suffer because of the hounding their parents are receiving at your hands.

How cowardly is it that instead of addressing the issue and explaining why you feel that your right to hound the McCanns over a crime which there is no evidence they were involved in, should take precedence over the rights of these innocent children, you simply call it all tasteless and flee?

How selfish is it of you that you feel you have no responsibility at all to help protect these children from abuse? In a civilised society it is the duty of all of us to protect the children and that would especially be the case where the parents are possibly not doing their bit. But even though (unlike me) you feel the parents are not doing their bit, you still don't show any interest in the welfare of those children?

Shame on you.

So, you'd rather be like the second example I cited then.  Thanks for the clarification, not that I needed it of course.

Indeed that makes it very clear.

C.Edwards thinks what he might discover with no access to the witnesses, to the full files, to the crime scene etc. in his pretendy role as amateur sleuth and hounder of the McCanns (even though a whole police force found no evidence after a whole year with dozens of officers involved) is so important and so vital that it takes precedence over the welfare of innocent children.

Thanks for the clarification.

I would rather be someone who might eventually be found to have been wrong about their innocence, than be found to have been wrong about their guilt.

Some people here need to visit my thread on morality and answer the questions there.

But anti McCann run scared of threads which discuss morality unless it is simply their take on the morality of the McCanns. They will never look at the morality relating to their own activity.

The fact that not one of them has addressed the specific issue of their own hounding/amateur sleuthing/name-calling/questioning etc of the McCanns being at least partly to blame for any potential abuse of the innocent children involved in the case is tantamount to their admitting that they have no excuse and prefer to simply carry on regardless.   The have no answer, they have no defence, they show no responsibility in the matter. Whether the McCanns made a mistake or not for these people to then compound the action is appalling.

What Kate McCann, Jane Tanner and so many thousands of others today will have made their children very, very proud of them. Those who have run the London Marathon today have shown themselves to be excellent examples for others. The millions raised for charity by such people is a real benefit to society.

I wonder, truly what benefit to society do the hate trolls think they bring with their amateurish sleuthing, their links to conspiracy lunacy on the Icke forum, their obscene and disgraceful suggestions, their proven lies and deceit (Hideho is the perfect example) and their constant hateful postings? Can they be proud to know that they are causing pain to the family of a missing child, that they are almost certainly laying the ground for future abuse of innocent children?

Its clear to me who is of more value in society and its not those keyboard trolls who post abusively and deceitfully. Well done to every one of those Marathon runners who have got off their backsides and done something useful. Having been there in your shoes when younger, I know just how you feel. Massive relief, heart swelling pride and a sense of really having achieved something good.

No one ever suggested raising money for charity was not a good thing. No one apart from a few lunatics, follow David Icke. What is disturbing in your post is the fact that you are a lumper all together, as many others are, of anyone who does not believe hook line and sinker every word uttered by the Mccanns. It is not illegal or immoral to not believe something someone says. last time I looked anyway.

Here is some food for thought for you BTW. I suppose it is all rubbish in your point of view but as Voltaire said, he defends the right of people to say what they think and disagree or words to that effect.

As that link does not address the posting of hate abuse by hounders at all I fail to see how it proves anything in relation to the title of the thread.

When you post something related to the thread and not some kind of rambling claims about the news media and the threat to Kate McCann (see other threads for that)  then I will respond to it.

The reality is that not one single anti McCann has yet posted anything which addresses the issue that their hate abuse will have a detrimental effect on the lives of innocent children.

The truth is that they are unwilling to discuss this issue because there is no justification for their deliberately affecting the lives of the children in that way. They have no response.

It is a simple fact that they choose to ignore the reality that by posting their hate abuse (with no proof to back up their claims) they are ensuring that the children of the people they direct their hate at will be the subject of more and more abuse/taunting etc in school. And that is simply disgusting.  Any person who knowingly contributes to child abuse in that way is quite evil.

Armchair detectives and other commentators posting on a high profile cold case is now a crime because former suspects have children and its child abuse?

Where do you get these bizarre ideas?

You have no argument here as it is not internet posters who havecreated this story or perpetuated ad infinitum stories in the papers about it, you do know there is such a thing as right of reply to public figures and national stories

Are you a member of hacked off perchance?
the organisation that wants censorship? Your grandad would be writhing in his grave

I am not demanding censorship. I am asking the people who are clearly contributing to the propaganda about these parents to accept the responsibility they are taking upon themselves. There are a number of sick individuals who are an intrinsic part of the McCann camp who post direct allegations online about the parents of these innocent children. It is not the parents making up these lies but the pathetic little armchair amateurish sleuths and worse who are posting this material. It is this material which will inevitably be used by other children to taunt the Tapas group children.

No matter how much you try to dismiss this reality, it remains a fact. And simply dismissing it shows that you are unwilling to face that reality about your own behaviour and about that of those who are posting much sicker material than you are.

Report them then but dont try and brush everyone with the same brush and farm out guilt everywhere  whilst on that high horse of yours, and pray tell, who are the sick individuals who are part of the mccann camp or was that a freudian slip
And no one said their children were not innocent, arent you shooting yourself the foot here and making such a big issue? maybe CREATING an issue? That wasnt there ever? think about it
Face reality about my own behaviour? people who are posting MUCH SICKER than me? what have I posted that is sick?Who the hell do you think you are pontificating about my behaviour. perhaps its YOU that is SICK attacking people? As for people posting whatever  on the internet, it is not MY responsibility is it? The McCanns have admitted that, though they believed it was safe to do so at the time, it clearly was a mistake to leave the children alone in the apartment. They have said that this decision will haunt them for the rest of their lives.

Their actions in this respect were not found after full investigation by the Portuguese authorities to have constituted neglect, that accusation against them was specifically rejected.

Given those facts, what does the continued hounding of the parents over this issue actually achieve? What is its purpose?

Do the people who engage in this activity do so as public-spirited citizens who feel duty bound to warn the McCanns of the perils of such behaviour? Seriously? Do these people not realise that the loss of a daughter has already had that effect?

Do they do it as a public service perhaps, as the clarion call of danger? Is the motive to warn others of the perils? Well the same answer applies? Is the loss of Madeleine, not warning enough?

Or do they do it as surrogate judge, jury and punishment officer, taking over where they have decided the Portuguese and UK authorities have failed? Do they believe that this hounding is a deserved punishment for the McCann's behaviour and though the legal authorities have deemed otherwise their attitude is that these parents are, by the court of lynch mob opinion, to be seen as guilty?  Remember the one specific allegation of a crime by the McCanns which was dismissed by the Portuguese authorities was that of neglect so it can only be lynch mob justice which hands down punishment.

Whichever motive those hounding the McCanns have for their action and it may not be one of the above, there is a consequence to their action which they appear to ignore.

We cannot affect what happened  back in 2007 in any way, but our behaviour and more specifically their behaviour can and does have effects today. The continued hounding of the McCanns and their Tapas friends for whatever reason has consequences beyond the effect on the parents of Madeleine and their friends. It has direct effects on the lives of the other children caught up as part of the families.

The name calling, the threats, the accusations of all kinds without any proof of any of them is simply abuse not only of the parents and the Tapas group themselves but of their children who will be taunted over these allegations throughout their school lives and beyond. And not one of the allegations is even remotely backed up with proof.

It is simply not good enough to repeat the mantra that the McCanns shouldn't have left the children and that its their fault all this happened.

The reality is that those doing the hounding should also take responsibility now for their actions too. It is their actions which now constitute child abuse. It is their allegations which they simply cannot prove (no-one can) about the McCanns and the rest of the group which will form the basis of the taunts directed at those young children. It is the hounders who are ensuring that those young children cannot escape from such abuse.

There is simply no excuse for abusing children even if that abuse is by proxy through attacks on the parents, particularly when there isn't any proof at all that the allegations being made are true.

If any of those who think it is clever to hound the McCanns have children, then I hope they think carefully about how they would feel if their children were the target of vile abuse because of some mistake they may have made in the past? Perhaps they think it is right for children to be abused in this way? It certainly is beginning to look that way to me.

I read the first 2 paragraphs of your text and it was so biased I didn't care to read the rest, so I won't pronounce about it.

Whatever move you wish to make, the fact is that what the McCann testified (I am not saying that is the truth, in fact I doubt it very much), leaving 3 children under 4 y.o. alone in an apartment, and that is crime, even more so in the UK. In fact, all of the Tapas9 committed a crime if they all left their children alone.

They all made attempts to dismiss that by stating that they made 15 min checks. That is not only not reasonable as doesn't diminishes the fact that if they left the children alone at the apartments it's a crime.

If they weren't condemned it was because they were clever enough to create the pandemonium that was the first months around them with diplomats, PRs, media... and your little neighbour.

The PJ wanted to take action, but the Ambassador was very persuasive to the Pm and the Minister of Justice and from that to the Attorney General, and Mr. Blair even sent a member of the Staff,....and so on...and the McCann arranged great sponsors to go on TV, the journos, giving interviews to this world and Mars, and gallivanting around the world as if they were the stars of Hollywood, not giving a shyte for the twins that were left to their fate, first with the Nannies from the Ocean Club that they didn't trust to babysit them at night, and then with relatives that got their new summer outfits and paraded around the beach and the pools as if it was a big party.

And Madeleine, where was she in all of this?
She was a marketing ploy (as her father said in the interview to the Vanity magazine), it didn't matter that if by exhibiting her distinctive marks they put a death robe over her...The Fund was raised, the money was coming and the life was great.

They never had had such a life. They could even pay their 2 months old mortgage out of the donations.
Mrs McCann could go 2/3 times a week to the hairdresser, for the photo shootings...everyone was great.

But where was Madeleine?
She "woshshh..cluck", said Mrs McCann to her friend O'Connor.
She wooshclucked and left her family living the life they never had, on top of the donations they asked to look for her, which they never did.

But no, they were not neglectful, just greedy. After all why did Madeleine get  "in the situation she got herself into" (Gerry McCann, 2007, on TV)????
