@ Anne
I'd be really interested to know what was ACTUALLY read out in court from Lee Rainbow's report.
The way I see it you have two problems here. Firstly the Report was written by Lee Rainbow in English and translated into Portuguese for the benefit of the court. Then whatever was stated in court was translated back into English by the court reporter. Do you realise how much of the original can be lost in doing so. Secondly, what we have basically is a carte blanche for any prosecutor to put any spin on it and believe you me they do and at every opportunity.
I therefore have grave concerns that what started out as a reasonable report ended up as something entirely different in an attempt to damage the McCanns.
Wouldn't you expect the McCanns to have rectified the damage if that had been the case though
Even in her book, which she says is her version of the truth, Kate talks about the trial, but makes no mention of any mistranslated or erroneous statements made
She does not even suggest that Ricardo Paiva was lying when he told the court that she had phoned him one night to tell him she had had a bad dream ( a night when Gerry was away from Portugal ) ... although Gerry himself said that it was untrue, outside the courtroom ( where he appeared very flustered ) before leaving Portugal, and Kate, with a full day of the trial yet to go
