In what other ways could it be achieved  ?

Hiring private detectives to look into Amaral's professional and private life with the intention of  bringing about ruin in both  ?  ....  the use of intimidation and strong-arm legal tactics that would ensure financial crippling  ?  ...  hiring media experts to enable the smearing and denouncement of Amaral in the press  ?
