Faked abduction, by Brian Johnson

Conclusions of Inspector Gonçalo Amaral and Chief Inspector Tavares de Almeida, with opinions from criminal psychologist, Dr. Christian Ludke

«Madeleine McCann was reported missing on May 3, 2007. Her parents immediately claimed that she was abducted despite little or no evidence of abduction.

After the police brought in specialist dogs, they detected the scent of human cadaver and human blood in the same ten places. Scent was found in the apartment and car rented by the McCanns.

Considering that no dead bodies had been reported in those places and the dogs had a 100% accuracy with no false positives it offers compelling evidence that 3 year old Madeleine McCann died in Portugal.

The conclusions of two police inspectors involved in the case were that Madeleine McCann died in Apartment 5A and that the cadaver was concealed and the abduction was faked.»

Not my text, but of the promoters of the book.  If it makes you uncomfortable, by all means, eliminate it from the books list.

Madeleine police chief convicted

Investigations have so far failed to find Madeleine McCann
The ex-head of the police inquiry into Madeleine McCann's disappearance has been convicted of falsifying documents in another case, Portuguese media say.

[/u]Goncalo Amaral was given an 18-month suspended sentence by a court in Faro[/u] in connection with an alleged attack on the mother of another missing girl.

Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, are planning to sue Mr Amaral.

It follows what they say are his claims that Madeleine was dead and they were involved in concealing her body.

Clarence Mitchell, a spokesman for the McCanns, said the couple would not be commenting on the court's decision. But they would be continuing their defamation action, he said.

In the name of fair play I have to object to your opening post Luz.

It is not known what Eddie and Keela reacted to, it could have been odour from many other things other than a cadaver.  The forensics failed to corroborate the dogs findings.

The dogs do not have 100% accuracy.  It is not known and never will be as to how many times the dogs gave false alerts.

If this is the sort of evidence this book relies on then I for one will be giving it a very wide berth.
