If we had capital punishment in this country people like Simon Hall, Eddie Gilfoyle and Jeremy Bamber would be dead by now which puts the whole sorry mess into perspective.

I have just read the case and I am certainly not signing that petition. Carty was born in St. Kitts and has never lived in Britian so saying she is a British woman because she is entitled to a British passport is a bit misleading ... she holds a USA passport too!

Nationality isn't the issue though ... Linda Carty killed a 25 year old mother so she could steal her baby! That's sick. The poor victim was *hog-tied and a plastic bag taped over her face". Carty had previous convictions and jail terms and was involved with drugs! The evidence against her seems compelling.

Why does this woman deserve any sympathy?

She aided and abetted them I understand to do what they did to this woman.  It's what they call Joint Enterprise in your UK, don't know what the yanks call it.

I do agree with the death penalty but there are many cases where some doubt persists.  IMO the likes of Ian Huntley, Robert Black, Peter Tobin, Peter Sutcliffe, Rose West, Ian Brady, Steve Wright and Adrian Prout to name but a few should definitely be hanged for what they did.

The cases of Luke Mitchell, Simon Hall and Jeremy Bamber do however leave me with grave concerns and that is where the problem lies; the grey areas and with those who may still be innocent.

It is interesting to note that Jeremy Bamber is defined as a 'Mass Murderer' and not a 'Serial Killer'.

The technical term for what Jeremy Bamber accuses his sister of is 'familicide'.

Carty seems as guilty as sin and if the death penalty is the punishment where she committed the crime then I am not going to lose any sleep over it.

Having said that I could never agree with the death penalty because of cases like Simon Hall's and Timothy Evans. The list you mentioned above and Levi Belfield should be hung drawn and quartered but if you allow this justice then sooner or later an innocent will be executed.

Simon Hall is innocent imho.

What are your grave concerns in the Bamber case John? His crimes are as bad as anyones; premeditation in killing children out of greed is as bad as say Huntley or Hindley for example imho.

That's honest of you John ... the Sally Anne Bowman case is another one that makes you wonder. Without DNA no one in the world would believe her boyfriend was innocent and a killer came out of the bushes .... he would probably have been hung 50 years ago and everyone would have agreed he was guilty ... but he wasn't!

I wouldn't go as high as 2% for Bamber though .... 1/million for me!

I have just watched the British Woman On death Row programme about this evil woman Linda Carty (it's on youtube) and I have to say it's quite the most biased programme I have ever seen, This woman helped kill a 25 year old completely innocent woman to steal her baby and this programme basically says even if she is guilty she had a hard life (of crime and drug addiction) so it doesn't matter if she is guilty she should be freed!

And how on earth can she be British ... she was born on a carribean island and has never been to Britian! Just because the island (St . Kitts) used be be British owned does not make her British in my book. She has both a British and USA passport .... she lived in St. Kitts then Texas and never visited the UK!

Total liberal, tree hugging rubbish in support of a vicious killer who doesn't deserve an ounce of sympathy in my book!

Once again the real victim ... the poor murdered Mum is ignored completely!
