As the spelling of his name in the press seems to be a moveable feast the presence or otherwise of an "a" would not be much to hang an argument on. Nonetheless Mr MacDonald(McDonald) is reported to have said his mother was Maltese (see earlier posts on this thread).
The Roderick MacDonald born in Aldershot Sept. 1938 was born to a mother whose maiden name was Kiomall which name is Maltese in origin.

I don't dispute a Roderick MacDonald married a Kristina-Birgit Todtenhaupt but unless you have copies of the birth and marriage certificates to compare his fathers names and professions you cannot be certain it is the same person. A common failing with amateur genealogists.
Of course we could have a nice conspiracy theory that some nasty person has nicked someone elses identity and is familiar with their life history.

No! He said that he reverted to his original name and I think he said that he was adopted.

There is no middle name W in this birth 1938 in Aldershot
But R W Robinson cant be this Rod who is still alive…. although could be stolen identity. He would have to get all certificates to check this out and find the real parentage to know he came from macdonald…..tricky!!!!!!!
