Wait a minute! Wasn't this lake searched for days using private funds by this guy who was the solicitor for Cipriano mother?
Carreira something?

Different one as Eleanor said.

Marcos Aragao Correia is thought to be spending more than £1,000 a day to keep up the dive hunt at the Barragem do Arade reservoir.
Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

Rebelo takes 6 new inspectors for the Maddie case
by José Manuel Oliveira 14 outubro 2007
PJ will make new searches within a radius of 15 km from Praia da Luz
The brigade inspectors now led by Paulo Rebelo in case Madeleine McCann and reinforced by six elements of various central departments shall, in the coming days, focus their research in areas located within a 15 kilometer radius of action from the The Ocean apartment Club, where the English child on vacation with her parents and twin brothers.
Will be the resumption of work in the days following the disappearance of Maddie - when the abduction theory was then considered the most consistent - days after the national director of the Judicial Police (PJ), Alipio Ribeiro, having said that are open all lines of research and so far nothing is conclusive about the disappearance of British child, on 3 May, in Praia da Luz.
The surrounding area of the dam Bravery in Odiáxere, dominated large areas of forest and detached houses from the site of Pincho, north of Lagos municipality, is one that continues to deserve particular attention of the police.
However, other areas located south of The Ocean Club, next to the beach of the town of Light and to the area of Burgau, shall be re-passed the comb by inspectors, and in particular where communications were detected through mobile phones made by the couple McCann and friends with whom they spent their holidays in the Algarve.
For now, the new Madeleine case coordinator and head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Portimão PJ, Paulo Rebelo, which has an adjusted working group for this process and consists of more than a dozen inspectors, is to find out all the details of action developed by his colleagues over the last five months of the middle.
Has learned the DN, Rebelo want to deepen some "loose ends" that considers the reports already exist in their power over this investigation. This is an investigator "with extensive experience and very meticulous," say police sources. The apartment where Maddie disappeared again be ana- lysed for at least two consecutive, by inspectors, early last week. In the coming days, the team of Paulo Rebelo should return there.

Was he aware he was being filmed?
I don't think he was.

No it doesn't look like he knew.

In the video the man does not say "on 3 May 2008" and does not say "on the doorstep".
I trust what I actually hear the witness saying.
And never trust what a UK newspaper adds over and above what a witness actually says.
This guy is 100% honest.
But you can't trust UK newspapers to get things right.
(Look at their smithman route for example)
IMO this note was probably found and handed to PJ in Oct 2007.
Happy to be proven wrong and in this case I might be.
Do we have weather 3 May 2008?

Yeah Brietta it looks like he was filmed from across the road in secret. They maybe offered him some $ so he agrees to talk and doesn't know the cameras are there...

So what quantifiably makes him seem creepy? Not that he isn't shifty. The found note makes me suspicious, but any freak could do that for kicks and he rightly gives it in to the police.

45. Given the number of days that had passed since the disappearance of Madeleine McCann it was considered appropriate to request help from the Lagos Voluntary Firemen who took part in the operations, and on this day carried out searches as the Bravura dam, situated to the north of Odeaxere, using their aquatic equipment, considering that a body that has fallen or been thrown into water tends to surface after 72 hours, this team searched all the branches of the dam using an outboard motor and found nothing suspicious.

Does the paper claim the note was found 3rd May 2008?
I do not hear the the witness saying the date and I always questions details added by the paper.
Have the paper misunderstood and misprinted the wrong date?
Don't know about all the rest of the day but at exactly 7.43pm it was not raining and the sky looked clear.

This is what it said:

The handyman, who we are not naming but was formerly employed by the holiday resort, immediately handed in the note to the police in May 2008.

I thought one UK media report claimed it was found on the one year anniversary of the event?

May is one year. They are always looking for better headlines. Only the PJ will know the actual date. I doubt he would remember the actual date.

The Mirror claims it was found "on the first anniversary".
That's a day not a month.
I am claiming that at 7.43pm on that day it was not raining and the sky was clear, also at one point earlier that day twas blazing sunshine.
The witness is 100% honest, I am thinking a journo has misunderstood and written a wrong date.
It makes much more sense if it was found Oct 2007 doesn't it?   (I might be wrong)

I find him to be extremely straight and honest talking to reporter, I questioning only the newspaper's accuracy, not the witness.
