Sonia was one of the few actually present in the preliminary hearing who heard the full dialogue of events and isn't victim to the media-sanitised version the rest of us had to make do with. Her impression of the direction of the wind was in direct contrast with the inferences the media decided to portray, it appeared.

Perhaps she knows that after March the media will have no choice but to be involved. They may have to start reporting on this case in ways we haven't seen since 2007.

And, after March, we are a few weeks from the General Election. How will what is revealed by the verdicts of the two trials reflect on the government figures of that day?

If I were a "sceptic" one question that would be uppermost in my mind is why no independent, credible, award-winning journalist anywhere in the world has examined all the files and the evidence and written an in-depth analysis of all the supposed lies and contradictions and how the abduction so obviously didn't happen.  Surely if you "sceptics" are right then this subject is ripe for a serious expose - surely the McCanns steely grip on the MSM doesn't extend as far as Portugal, or America or Italy or Australia....?  Why have only Sonia Poulton and a handful of others like Bennett and Brown stepped up to the mark, I'd be wondering... &%+((£

Unfortunately summers and swan's book of McCann worship doesn't count.

Why would it be uppermost in your mind were you a sceptic?
How many credible award winning writer's have written books on the topic? vs how many nutters have written books on the topic?
What writers choose and choose not to write about is hardly relevant to this case surely?
I certainly don't envisage any author, award winning, credible or otherwise coming up with the "Excalibur moment" that the fuzz stand in awe of do you?
We have done this before; professional authors journalists whatever you wish to call them do it for the money or the potential of the money. Whether you like it or not or find it distasteful or not the name McCann coupled with a 7 year old photo of Madeleine sells copy.
