and what did a fellow student when at University say about him ?
You can look it up.
Personally , I find him an extremely arrogant man.
I think it's fair to describe him as a 'man's man' as Jane Tanner put it. Kate acknowledged he could be abrupt, and doesn't make romantic gestures.
The group appeared boisterous but good natured with Gerry being the central figure. His gregarious character making him appear to be the central figure in the group and almost holding court.
http://www.mccannpjfiles.co.uk/PJ/JEREMY_BRIGET.htmLet me tell you something about Gerry. His honesty
and openness make him very direct, often to the
point of bluntness, and he’s not a touchy-feely guy.
Like many men, he assumes I take his feelings as
read and doesn’t see any need to express them with
soft-soaping, flowers or cards.
Kate McCann's book.
I mean Gerry, the sort of person Gerry is, I could never see us being best buddies because he’s very, we’re very different. I think he’s very err he’s quite forthright and so I don’t think we’d ever be best friends but there’s no problem there or anything like that you know, I feel bad saying that because it makes it sound like there is a problem but there’s not but you know it’s not, whereas Kate I was really, I was getting to know Kate quite well but yeah I think Gerry is sort of like more of a man’s man maybe.”
Jane Tanner's rogatory interview.
Initially I thought that Gerry McCann was a bit harsh, but as we got to know each other he revealed himself to be very nice and fun [-loving].
