I’m surprised that that being the case she didn’t change it, especially with all the emotion that surrounds this case. Of course she may have felt why should she and that’s her right but it does make her vulnerable to any individual with an opinion haranguing her.

They did. Now the poor girl is on trial for stalking. I feel sorry for her. If she really wants to be Madeleine McCann that badly she should be allowed to live her truth. Besides, the McCanns have space in their home for one more so they could just adopt her. She seems like a nice girl & definitely not creepy at all.

I really don't see the problem with shit posting about the McCanns on backwater Internet forums but I dont condone phoning them up or knocking on their front door. No, if you're going to annoy the McCanns I think it's best to do so in a public setting. Like spontaneously. If you bumped into them in Sainsburys I think it would be OK to point & call them liars or something. That sort of scenario seems an acceptable level of personal harassment to me.

If you’re calling out Kate for not being very wise that sounds like a criticism to me.  I have no idea what I would do in that situation tbh.  I might have weighed up the possible risks versus the possible benefits.  Surely the worst thing is that every nutter knows exactly where the McCanns live thanks to kind sceptics publishing their address on various forums.  Should they have left their house too in your view?  Where do you draw the line?  I think they have shown some bravery and defiance in staying put and doing their best not to let these awful people intimidate and force their hand to run and hide. It’s clear they have a strong support network of friends and neighbours who have their best interests at heart which probably has provided some comfort and reassurance over the yesrs.

Further trying to equate moving house with changing your phone number is just silly. The home that they shared with Madeleine will be full of memories of her. How is that in any way comparable to changing your phone number?

The employers of one  poor physiotherapist in Glasgow would have received an email telling them that she posted horrible things about the parents of a missing child simply because she had what they thought was the same name as me. Both should be condemned.

Could you please point out anywhere where I said that Kate was lying about her number being published in the files? I think you’ll struggle as I’ve never said it and, as far as I am aware, I’ve never heard Kate claim it either and of course it would be remiss of anyone not change their number once it’s been made public. That’s why you’re advised never to share personal details like your mobile number on the internet. It is simply common sense and something I would have thought wouldn’t be controversial. Of course you seem to think otherwise…to me that’s simply bizarre.

Of course the people to blame are the people in court at this time and not the parents or siblings of Madeleine.

Women should be able to wear anything when they go out. Should be able to walk dark streets unmolested….thats a given. Unfortunately that’s not the reality and pointing out the fact is not victim blaming but stating an unfortunate reality. The same argument can be made for changing your mobile phone number once it’s been made public. It’s not fair but there are people who will take advantage and we are, unfortunately, seeing this illustrated in this case.
