This is why I haven't given up hope.  Brazil is a big country so Madeleine could be anywhere.  And even knows what stories she could have been told, if indeed she wondered who she was.

This is such a load of bull, smarming up to Eleanor in order to slyly criticise others.  I take no pleasure in believing Madeleine is dead and almost certainly died on May 3rd 2007, nor do I believe there?s any nobility in having remained steadfast in that belief ever since.

Can you remind me Joe - how many witnesses claim to have seen Luke Mitchell out and about at the time of Jodie?s murder, claims which his supporters all strenuously deny being him on account of either memory fallibility, or media influence?

Well no one witnessed the crime, Vertigo, but the police put it at 5.15.
The most damning sighting which LM denies is that of Andrina Bryson at the Easthouses end of RDP at 4.50.
The next witness sighting was at the opposite end of the path on Newbattle road standing by a gate, that was the Fleming/Walsh sighting at 5.45 which LM also denies was him, he claims he left his mums house around 5.30 and went no further than Barondale cottages on Newbattle road where he was witnessed by Carol Heatlie and the three pushbike boys,which LM doesn't deny! But he does deny going as far down as the gate where Fleming/Walsh claimed to see him.
But the sighting that helped convict him was certainly that of Andrina Bryson!

Have you ever watched 'Murder in a small town', Vertigo? That programme actually reconstructs the Bryson sighting! Well worth a watch, although it is biased towards innocence I suppose, but does stick to the facts and has opinions from experts.

I think the most telling aspect of Bryson?s part in this case is that she failed to identify him in court. Would her conscience not let her send a young man who she was not sure that she had seen to prison for most of his adult life?

Yes, all very interesting but I was actually asking about the ease with which Mitchell?s supporters are able to discount these sightings.  Can you give the reasons why they dismiss them?  I mean if they said they were 60-80% sure it was Luke you?d be laughing them out of court presumably.

Well the Bryson sighting is the only really damaging witness sighting, Vertigo!
And as Faith was saying, Bryson failed to identify LM at his trial.
