The much simpler answer Joe is that.....

1) The man resembled Gerry, because it was Gerry.

2) He had similar trousers to Gerry, because it was Gerry

3) Madeleine was dressed in the wrong pyjamas, because the McCanns told a lie about what pyjamas she was wearing.

4) She was out for the count & never stirred when the abductor carried her out of the window, because she was in fact dead & simply wasn't abducted.


Or, maybe Brueckner did it. What seems more likely to you Joe?

Also pointed out in Vertigos AI was the fact that the dogs didn't alert to where Gerry had dumped the body earlier in the evening before collecting it again to put in the bin later on, what do you make of that, Spam?
Does this suggest that if Smithman was indeed carrying Maddie, then he must have carried her non stop from the apartment to where the Smiths saw him?
And if Smithman was heading towards the beach/harbour, might this suggest the abductor was carrying Maddie down to Eleoners yacht which left that night?
Was said yacht and owner ever tracked down and ruled out?

You're never going to find 'proof' in this case. Certainly, the three expert investigative forces, armed with 19 years worth of overwhelming abduction evidence. They don't seem to be able to prove to the public that Madeleine was abducted. I can't imagine why not.
