Do you believe Dr Payne saw Maddie alive at 6.30, Spam?
If so, things must have moved fast before the McCanns left for dinner?
Least of all suddenly losing their daughter and composing themselves before meeting the Tapas 7?
Yes, David Payne said he saw three contented sleepy angelic children ready for bed but the moment he left their mother must have turned into a murderer and decided to punch her eldest to death.  Then when Daddy comes home, instead of being utterly aghast and devastated by his wife?s depraved actions he decides the best thing to do for all involved is to cover up for her and carry on living with this she-monster, allowing her to bring up his two remaining children, hoping she doesn?t flip out and murder them too.   Crazy but true apparently.  And then Gerry has a quiet word to tell Dave what?s occurred and Dave says, ?no worries, I?ll cover for you? and then tells a pack of lies to the police about the three contented sleepy children, because the reality of the matter is that when he visited Kate she had Madeleine by the throat and he had to persuade her to let go.  But then the murder happeend as soon as he was out the door. Yes, that?s very likely what happened.

Its just that each theory seems to have its draw backs, Spam!

Have you even heard some of the abduction theories? They don't fit the evidence, they exclude it & don't account for it & have to avoid it. I have evidence to support my theory however. Do I think the McCanns are capable of faking it? Absoloutely, because my evidence suggests that's precisely what they've been doing for the last 19 years.

Brueckner hid in the apartment with a container of knock out gas and now he's morphed into Tannerman. I think you've solved it Lace. Who did the Smith family see then? Scotch Mist?

No the Smiths also saw CB

So he had a haircut & changed Maddie's pyjamas in the interval between the two sightings. If we account for the small detail.

Late night barber shops, abductors gassing Maddie & then wandering around town with her for the best part of an hour. These are the types of flights of fantasy we find ourselves in when we try to combine the two sightings & examine the detail.

I've said I've no idea. You're venturing into theory. Stick to evidence. I've presented mine. But I'm not seeing much evidence implicating Brueckner, that can account for the sighting by the Smith family though. Containers of laughing gas aside.

The Smith family didn't come forward until Murat's face was all over the news. That was a red flag in itself, given the fear factor for the children in their care and the small resort was crawling with police and journalists for the remainder of their holiday. If only there had been CCTV showing the exact time Smiths returned to the complex that night...what time did you say it was?
The evidence against CB is unrelated to the Smith sighting.

What I find baffling about the elder Smiths is, despite allegedly continuing to believe the man they saw was Gerry, Mrs Smith had this to say in an interview with the Mail On Sunday:

"We only did what we thought was right for a missing girl and our hearts are breaking for her parents, as it would be if it were one of ours.

''I feel very much for them [the McCanns]. I have six grandchildren of my own and six children of my own.

"The poor McCann family must be heartbroken.''

Why so much sympathy for a murderer and her body occulting husband I wonder?

Go away with your ridiculous Murat conspiracy theory. But before you do that, remind us all what the evidence against Brueckner is then? That he allegedly said he dunnit? That's about all there is really. Why do you trust a paedo?

Smith was reluctant to implicate Mr McCann in the first place. They were probably being polite rather than just publicly calling the McCanns murderers.

We know SY listened intently to what the Smith family have had to say, so, they decided to release the e-fits the McCanns didn't want released & then they depicted Maddie wearing the long sleeve pyjamas they said she wasn't wearing.

I expect by the time of this interview they realised the shit they?d caused an innocent family and felt really bad about it.  She reiterates in the article that the man they saw had the stature of Gerry McCann but doesn?t go so far as to say she still thought  it might have been him.  Also, as she?s never met Gerry McCann how is she able to compare their relative statures?  Most odd!

They didn't show the abductor breaking in, gassing Maddie & then dragging her out the window however. Maybe Wolters is working on that revised reconstruction as we speak, because he probably doesn't have much else to do at the moment.

Oh dear, Spam is still clinging to the notion that the Met secretly believe the McCanns dunnit and were trying to force a confession.  Sweet, deluded fool.
