Oh happy day!  Thank you Americans for rejecting Trump's attempted $5000 dollar bribe and for sticking it to the big fat orange tub of inhumanity big time.  Roll on 2028, and this time let's hope the Democrats choose a candidate who most people can get behind.  We don't want JD Vance with his God-driven crusade in the White House do we?

At last something you agree on. Good to see several states embrace more left leaning Democratics.

At last?  You make it sound like I've been a Trump supporter whose only just now changed her mind instead of someone who has been posting against Trump on this forum for years.  Perhaps you meant to write at last something WE agree on, along with the fact that we both agree that the Daniel Morcombe Fund has no bearing whatsoever on the Madeleine Fund and that the McCanns' behaviour and actions should give no one any reason to suspect them of any deceit or fraud.

While the blue tsunami is absolutely to be welcomed Trump retains all his powers until January so the danger isn?t quite over yet.

the danger's not over for two more years.  This man has the nuclear codes on his bedside table at night. And if America votes in JD Vsnce then, well doesn't bear thinking about.

I don?t think that Vance has a chance of running for the presidency?.he's too damaged by his part in the Trump era. He?d have been better sticking to his earlier stance of Trump being the new Hitler. He?s sold his soul for power and even the Republicans recognise that the American people don?t trust him.

It doesn't help per se but I'd love to know why?

I've watched him for years and I wasn't keen to begin with, but at least he appears to know what he is doing, which is more than can be said for the other lot. They have all been disasters in some way or another, especially the last demented idiot. And their wives often seem to be running the show.

I did like Bush as well, another Republican.  Perhaps their politics has something to do with it.

Eleanor, he doesn?t know his arse from his elbow, look at the mess he's made of everything by starting a war with Iran he has no idea how to finish - and that's just for starters.  He is the personification of ignorance, arrogance and incompetence, not to mention being incredibly uncouth and appallingly abusive towards women and the disabled and anyone in fact who has the temerity to contradict him or ask him a question he doesn?t like.  On top of that he is a massive liar, a friend to Putin and other world despots and has very obviously sociopathic traits. His treatment of Zelensky and Ukraine in the past couple of years has beggared belief, and he is also bright orange, overweight, and apparently smells really bad.
Other than that he's just great.

Don't underestimate the stupidity and the gullibilty of the MAGA brigade.  They will vote for whoever Trump tells them to vote for, and if he hasn't thrown JD under a bus in the next couple of years he could well be the favourite to stand.  I mean, after Trump's first term (which was bad enough) they chose him again as their candidate for the two successive elections, incredibly and unbelievably.

I am not here to fight with anyone. And I doubt that there is any such thing as a 100% honest politician.  Apart from Lee Quan Yew that is, but then he was something else.

You are of course entitled to your opinion and I know that nothing I say would convince you otherwise, but I will never to my dying day understand how so many people could vote for the man, or be unable to see what a despicable human being he is.  He is by far and away the worst US president ever, and that includes Nixon, who for all his sins was at least a statesman who didn't go around telling reporters to eff-off or mock people with disabilities.  If you were ever on the #McCann hashtag on Twitter or on any of the old Sceptic forums then Trump is like the Laffin' Assassin of politicians.  An absolute troll.

My mum loved Lee Kwan Yew and saw him in the flesh on a couple of occasions.  I'm too young to have a view on the man but as I understand it he was something of a benevolent dictator, and certainly in a completely other league to the current White House incumbent.

Lee Quan Yew was Prime Minister of Singapore for 30 Years.  I was fortunate to be living in Singapore at the beginning of his reign, although he wasn't in anyway a dictator. His aim was to serve his people and improve the much neglected lot of the Chinese.  He was a brilliant politician and remained a modest man for all of his life.  He died at the age of 91.
Amen to him.
