Sorry Stephen - First of all, I have never at any time suggested that the PJ did not do a very thorough job in searching for Madeleine.

Secondly, I am not going to get involved in your "passive aggressive" games.   8(0(*

This is no game JP.

The mccanns and many of their supporters have claimed Madeleine was never searched for thoroughly.

At least you admit she was searched for, that is a start.

I have searched for Madeleine. Even in zones OG searched later.

What were your parameters for searching Heriberto ?

Following one of several lines. Madeleine killed by the abductor and hidden in the zone delimited by Prainha, Mata Porcas, and the small hill of wasted land.

For those who don't speak portuguese, Prainha = the small beach west of fort

Yes, and by putting up with the discomfort of borrowing a plane instead of taking a scheduled flight, the region around 30.000 feet could be searched more efficiently.

Meanwhile I think we should have a very special mention here for the numerous volunteers who spent day after day searching the surrounding countryside. And that includes Stephen Taylor and Colin Sahlke, who gave up their jobs and sold their possessions to go to PDL and search. I do hope they got a quick wave of thanks from the windows of the multi-million-dollar private jet as it flew off.

Did the McCann's request the jet?   No,  they didn't it was offered to them,  why throw the offer back in the fact of Phillip Green who wanted to help? -

The visit to Rome involved the use of a private jet supplied by the retail multimillionaire Sir Philip Green. While the McCanns realised that using the plane could generate negative reactions they felt they had to be consistent in accepting every genuine offer of help, no matter how large or small. Private jets, they pointed out, shorten considerably the time they have to spend away from the twins.

I seriously might have gone (actually considered it) to help the parents search the town and surrounding countryside but had not enough money for the air fare etc.
If I'd known a billionaire was making a jet available to the search I would have rung him to pick me up.

Again you mention the private jet that was offered to the McCann's.    Would you have swapped places with them?  No, of course not,  do you think they would prefer to be taking up offers of a private jet to having their daughter back with them?

So apart from Eleanor's response, have any mccann supporters actually physically searched for Madeleine ?

Bit of a silly topic isn't it.

The only way anyone can search is to look out for a Madeleine look a like whilst on holiday abroad which is what I do.

It is not a silly topic.

So you search for her. How exactly do you do that ?

Do you actually accept, unlike what the mccanns and some supporters say, that she was searched for extensively, by both police forces and volunteers ?

Therefore ending the myth, once and for all, that she wasn't searched for thoroughly.

Are you sure about what you are looking for?

I would advise any men to be careful about staring at girls of the appropriate age, it could be misconstrued.

Or even approaching them, so that must rule out about 50% of those who could search.

As I said the only way anyone can search for Madeleine is to look out for look a likes with a fleck in the eye,  which I do whilst away on holiday.

Can you give me a link where it says the McCann's have stated that Madeleine was not searched for extensively when she went missing?

I have never said she wasn't searched for extensively when she went missing,  what I have said though is as soon as Amaral came up with his theory that Madeleine  died in the apartment,   sightings were not looked into,  people were told she was dead.

The McCann's give out a very good advice for when anyone was looking out for Madeleine,   not to approach the child,   but to contact police straight away.

If no one looked for a child whose picture is on a poster and is missing,  then there wouldn't be any found would there?   What is the point of putting up missing children posters if they didn't think it would help with the child being found.

At what distance might one be able to observe a small fleck in an eye?

Its quite difficult to see an eye fleck in many of the photos of Madeleine. How much more difficult must it be to see one in a child that is moving about and perhaps not in ideal lighting conditions.
