How did you prove that? Did they retract that article?  Where is the proof or even hint that it was false?
The simple fact that there is nothing to prove it was true in the first place, get over it,  it was a journos invention.

Take this report for example the word "reach" is supposed to be used 3 times yet I can't find it, someone has removed it yet Google says it was there.   I'm not a computer expert but it sounds mischievously like a cat burgler to me!

Oh a lot of whooshing, to do with the Mccann case, goes on on the internet.

On this forum images have vanished, but have NOT been replaced by vulgar images.

When I was on PFA2 forum, some interloper came in and replaced an image of (IIRC, Joana Cipriano) a named young person with a picture of an exceedingly busty and provocative sleazy looking woman.  Skimpy blouse open down the front and one shoulder completely bare, other shoulder has the blouse slippy down.

It was a fairly regular occurence that an interloper came in and (usually subtly) changed the addresses posted for videos, or for websites that were supportive of the posters argument.  Thus cheating and preventing the Mccann supporter from getting their point across.

Oh well thanks for lettng us know no images of yours here were replaced by vulgar ones, but just that they "disappeared? somehow...well that would only be if your post was deleted, simple enough, it happens to all of us, getting posts deleted unless you wanna accuse for the forum owners of deleting your pics intentionally cos they prove some hdden truth lollol
Gonna watch something nice o n the tv cos had enugh if this conspiracy crap tonight

If the original has been removed from the internet you won't be able to link to it, Mercury.  For example no one can access anything printed in the News of the World, when the title closed all access was denied.  Therefore if an item wasn't C&P it is lost.
Similarly with photographs and videos ... if they are taken down, you won't be able to access them from a link.  Only if you had the foresight to physically copy content will it be reasonably secure: for example ~ Gerry McCann's blog entries were copied by Pamalam.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Without wishing to feed this off topic foray it is inevitable that images which are linked to the internet will in time disappear.  If a member wishes an image to be retained on the forum it is best to attach a file.

Images which are uploaded to a file sharing service like Imgur are deleted after a while if they are not accessed and that is why some of the images have disappeared from this forum.  No conspiracy I'm afraid.

Of course we all get posts deleted ... and often posts are truncated.  That bothers me because when part is missing, it can alter the meaning of the post.

what I dont like is when a post has been passed as OK, and at a much later date, months later, it is cleared out or truncated.  None of us can keep a 24/7 watch on all our posts.

Anyway, Nigh night mercury.
