The old myths he may have had a hand in creating are recognised for what they are.  Times have moved on in Portugal with the Oporto team working alongside Scotland Yard to find Madeleine's abductor.

I don't think there is a lot of mileage left in continuing excoriating the McCanns when that is taken into consideration.
Will his target audience tolerate purchasing a book which doesn't cover that ground?

What known and established facts as aired on Crimewatch 2013 could possibly be damaging to the McCanns? !  Amaral can suggest that in his opinion one of the e-fits looks like Gerry but so what?  It has not been established that the Met believes Smithman IS Gerry, so it's only his opinion, not a fact.
