Completely agree... As they don't have him placing her in the boot for at least an hour...

According to DCI Phil Jones on the Judge Rinder program... The Blood spot was on the seal of the car boot... And I think it was one spot of blood if I remember, is what he says..

As dead people don't bleed... It must be transfer...

Could LCG Forensics have transferred this blood or had a false test result..? Was it contamination?

Trouble is, if someone pleads guilty, then nobody has to ask the questions which should have been asked.
I doubt whether the jury members knew  how long people bleed after death, and they didn't have to worry about transfer and contamination, even if they knew such things can happen, as VT admitted having killed Joanna. So, as far as the lawyers, judge and jury were concerned, half the work had been done for them.  Now, I don't think that is very satisfactory, and nor do a few others writing on this thread, but the majority of people are either indifferent, or accept it without question.

Oh, and a few questions from me:

566
Was Vincent Tabak seen by a psychiatrist at any time before or after pleading guilty, and if so, what were  the conclusions of this examination?

567
If he was never examined, why not? After all, it's hardly normal behaviour to kill somebody.

568
Why was a psychiatric evaluation of VT never discussed in court?

569
Did VT drink heavily or use drugs such as cannabis, which might make him behave in a way that was out of character?

570
I almost dare not type this, but did Jo drink heavily or use cannabis?

Oh, and a few more. I must be suffering from Monday Morning Mischief.

571

Why wont the Prisoner Location Service give me a straight answer?

572
Why hasn't anyone written a book about this high profile case?

573
Why do the tabloids never print anything at all pertaining to anyone involved in this case, apart from Christopher Jefferies, and the annual interview by Jo's parents to the local Bristol paper?  After all, lots of people would love to know if VT has been beaten up or attacked in prison-------many would also love to know what has become of Greg and Tanja.

You dare ask this, but going down that road on this forum will be taboo. The police and the news media have gone out of their way to depict her as a person of irreproachable character, who would never have done anything that could have given her killer any motive to harm her. Cross-examined in court as to whether she were drunk at the Bristol Ram pub, her colleague Darragh Bellew testified, "Not at all, just jovial - her usual self!"

If it is any help, I recently read (in one of Nick Pisa's articles) that the pathologist who examined Meredith Kercher had found so much alcohol in her blood that she would have been three times over the legal limit for driving when she was killed. None of the three books, nor any other articles, I had read about her murder made any reference to her state of inebriation, presumably out of respect for her family.

I am sure you can think of other obvious, legitimate, questions about Joanna's private life and health that the police and VT's defence lawyers were entitled to ask, but which we are not.

Of course I can, Leonora, but I won't ask!

I have been trying to see things from the "guilters" sides, actually, and trying to imagine a situation whereby Vincent Tabak could have killed Jo, something I do not find very easy to do.

A man has a normal day at work. He comes home, eats his tea, then, within a couple of hours, has "tried it on" with his next door neighbour whom he did not know, killed her in the process, and ruined his own life too.  This is not the real world, IMO.

However, I remember a newspaper report whereby a local shopkeeper remembered VT buying Rizla papers in her shop.

So, my imagination ran away with me:  did VT smoke cannabis?

And, let me put this in the most "respectful" way I can:  could he have supplied some to another person?

The rules of the game set no limit on the range or the horrendousness of the sins you may attribute to Vincent Tabak. He will not sue! If a shopkeeper remembered him buying Rizla papers, then why not masking tape, a chainsaw, or an armoured bicycle-cover? I can remember young men who rolled their own cigarettes while driving, but nowadays nobody rolls anything except joints. So it is very likely that VT was cultivating his own cannabis plants round the back of 44 Canynge Road, even as Joanna was asking her landlord's permission to put out the more innocuous kind of pot plant (as depicted in the first few moments of "The Lost Honour...").

Nobody kills for cannabis. It is considerably less harmful than alcohol. A person who was sufficiently hungry would be more likely to kill for a pizza.

You may be right, Leonora, but there is no doubt that both alcohol and cannabis can turn somebody's mind!

My best friend's son committed suicide (while under the influence of both), so who knows?

I doubt that this was the case with JY and VT, but I could not help mentioning it.

BTW, nobody ever saw VT buying a chainsaw, etc a la Nathan Matthews!

Of course, he never did, IMO, something he could never have done!

(589): Have the Prison service used "Prison Officers" as "listeners before??

(590): Would prisoners be happy to talk to a "listener who was a "Prison Officer"..

(591): Wouldn't this role cause issues within the prison if "Prison Officers were "Listeners"

(592):  "Listeners are supposed to be prisoners... why didn't Dr Vincent Tabak have a Prisoner as a "Listener??
