Millions on finding several locally based burglars ( I can’t imagine burglars travelling very far to steal the meager pickongs they’d find in holiday lets )?

We know precisely diddly squat about the lead the Met is pursuing but it certainly makes a whole lot more sense that £12m is being spent on tracking a person or people down internationally (including potentially the missing child) rather than on a couple of plainsclothes policemen and a listening device in Rothley.

It is the aspect of the fleeing burglars possibly knocking down a wandering Madeleine that interests me.

You are of course right. We do know diddly squat about the lead the Met are pursuing.

Though of course they are only spending a much smaller amount which some are estimating at £150k.

I'm also right about the other point I made of course - imo.

TO date they have spent £12m+ - on building a case against the McCanns do you think?  How would the money have been spent in such a scenario?  What evidence would they be looking for beyond that which had already been collected as part of the first investigation?

I wonder how much was used of that £12+ million pursuing the alleged burglars who had sod all to do with it and ended up being right back at the start.

According to Faithlilly, not that much as they were only local and wouldn't have strayed far.

I have had an update on their locations, perhaps a year ago, and none had strayed from Luz.

Quite why OG thought it was prudent to round up 3 locals who remained local is a mystery to me.

As OG isn't providing a running commentary of its actions then it remains a mystery to all of us, and rightly so IMO.

Many, many more than the "alleged" burglars have been interviewed by Operation Grange and in my opinion you cannot possibly have any knowledge of exactly where any of those interviews led the investigators.

What we do know is that there is justification  for pursuing the active case into Madeleine's disappearance as the investigation asked for money to keep going on it, the money was granted and work continues. The PJ also appear to have an interest in something or other too as the Portuguese investigation continues.

Just an aside ... one wonders how the Portuguese Penal Code copes with Freedom of Information Requests ... or does the secrecy law ensure that their police are allowed to pursue active criminal cases without the hindrance and added expense of having to dot the i's and cross the t's of such requests?

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

As OG is keeping quiet your post is supposition.

This is a new thread.
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.
