No misunderstanding.  The patio door was open and didn't need a key yet GM initially claimed he went to the trouble of walking all the way round to the front door which required a key.  Was he expecting to meet someone in the car park per chance?

and needed the toilet - all the more for the quickest route

I really don't know and I really don't care.  Perhaps you can explain it, as it is obviously something that matters an awful lot to you and you seem to spend a lot of time concerning yourself with it?

It seems that when appeals for sympathy or empathy and casting aspersions on the interpreters and translators fails, the next step is to attack the unconvinced poster. I rest my case.

How was that an attack exactly?

Could be lots of reasons but as we are told they are not suspects and there's no evidence  against them it obviously isn't important

Thanks, Dave. That statement is also trotted out regularly.

That's because it's true and highly relevant

The impression you are trying to give is that the incident I referred to doesn't need an explanation because it's so trivial that it's of interest only to an obsessive person such as me.

It surprises me not that Kate's book, MADELEINE attracted a myriad of duff reviews just as it surprises me not to see a load of vitriol attached to anything in any media mentioning Madeleine and her family which allows comment.

Despite the adverse comments which I haven't bothered to read because I will guarantee they will just be the same old, same old ... Kate's book, MADELEINE achieved precisely what it was intended to ... and replenished the fund set up to pay for the search for Madeleine until the police took over.

Nice one Kate!!  Good luck, Madeleine!!
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

IMO it still comes across as a defence in need of a trial.

After all the shit she and her family had flung at them from day one I don’t think it’s massively surprising if Kate comes across as defensive at times, how could she not after all the things she has been accused of?  [comments removed]

It's true that the parents acted against Amaral and the UK media, but most of what you refer to was  said on the internet which they don't read, apparently.

I don’t think that most of the examples I wrote was confined to the internet, in any case the hate arrived on the McCanns doorstep on a regular basis delivered there by the Royal Mail.  The McCanns may say they don’t read the internet and if they are sensible they don’t but I have no doubt they are well aware of most of the criticisms that are levelled against them.  Therefore my point stands - it’s hardly surprising and entirely forgiveable IMO if Kate appears defensive in her book.
