How would you measure its success?  In terms of sales, its impact upon the literary world, or for its PR effect ?
In terms of the amount of cash it raised for the Fund.

This is a discussion forum  about the McCanns. Some of us discuss the case and the information we have to hand, we de construct- reverse engineer, if you prefer, the stories of those involved , who were there when we were notified that MBM 'disappeared.

It is a fact that supporters feel sorry for the parents and protect their 'feeling's at all cost.  When 'feelings' and behaviours are discussed which contradict the supporters[which in itself is fine] they go off on a tangent.
Accusing their debating opponents  of being 'evil trolls', 'McCANN Bashing'.

You are quite wrong to accuse fellow members of creating threads which are started here with the ultimate aim of criticising and casting doubt upon the McCanns. They did that themselves!

I will not apologise for doubting the McCanns, and sometimes I will criticise where the thread calls for it. There is nothing wrong with that either.

You do rather go OTT at times.
And to add to our previous exchange of posts.......the Pope is not God's representative on earth, nor does he forgive sins.

I;'d measure it's success in helping the case

In that case I think we are probably in the region of nil points.

And it certainly was successful in that aim.

If you accept that Madeleine was abducted by a stranger, it's not likely that a book by her mother is going to help solve the case.  If on the other hand you think Kate knows exactly what happened to Madeleine what makes you think she would reveal all in a book about the disappearance?!

Quite right, it's the sort of knowledge you would have expected her to tell the police about.

Shame it was mostly wasted on a futile legal battle.

Do you have a cite for how much has been "wasted"?
Or is "mostly" as accurate as you can be?

I don't have figures which is why I used mostly. The annual company statements don't give such breakdowns on expenditure.

It’s the same “mostly” as Kizzy was using to describe the 5 star reviews the book had on Amazon - they were “mostly” about the delivery times and packaging, don’t you know!

Could you define what you mean by "mostly" please?

If I were to write a book in those circumstances it would be to try to find my daughter  so I expected it to be the same , I do not suspect the McCanns btw

How would writing a book help you find your missing daughter, apart from by raising money to fund a private investigation?

Well that was part of the justification back in 2010.

Her husband added: "We are hopeful that this book may help the investigation to find Madeleine in other ways, too. Our hope is that it may prompt those who have relevant information – knowingly or not – to come forward and share it with our team. Somebody holds that key piece of the jigsaw."

Brietta posted on 10/04/2022 “But whether or not that is the reason behind the delay I am certain that Brueckner's trial is going to take place.”

Let’s count the months, shall we?
