You aren't necessarily out of step; Sadie.  But are you saying he has to appear looking like that?  His Lawyer can't afford a half decent second hand jacket?  In my opinion he wants to look neglected and down trodden.  And Fat or Thin. Which is it?

I don't believe a word he says about anything.
I think it is just part of this guy's MO. He has played the "poor me" card before.
Eleanor has mentioned his present sartorial inelegance for example. He really doesn't have to dress like that. In fact he was known for being fastidious about his personal appearance and wardrobe during his halcyon days in Portugal.

From start to finish his latest complaints are just another devious ploy. I have no idea what but there will be something behind it all. The German authorities won't be discriminating against his diet. The other prisoners will be eating it too and probably cooking it.
He's in prison ergo he must eat prison food. Maybe he is getting worried he will be eating it until he is a very old man.

Before I joined this forum, I believed virtually everthing I was told.

But no longer.   I now usually question everything.  .   how sad is that?
