Kate was logical and checked that Madeleine wasn't hiding in the apartment somewhere.

But then suddenly totally irrational and leaves the twins unsupervised (again) and returns to the Tapas Bar via a longer route than logic would dictate?

It would seem that she had momentarily taken leave of her senses; an aberration. Even to the point of abandoning perhaps the strongest instinct of all - maternal.

When hair samples of the Twins were voluntarily submitted for drug testing, what month was it? Also does anyone know specifically what tests were carried out?

What route was longer IYO?  I don't think Kate was capable of taking the "as the crows fly" route then.

Sorry yes you're correct she takes the shorter route when she leaves the twins again in an unlocked apartment which now also has an open window to the childrens' bedroom.

The point GA is making in The Truth Of A Lie is that she walks a distance twice as long as the distance to the Tapas Bar as the crow flies. He asserts she could have shouted from the veranda and not left the twins again.

It's a progression of thought.

Possible misuse of antihistamines, Smithman, the dogs' alerts and the Gaspar statement all need to be carefully considered by any investigation of the case, IMO.

Thanks Billy.  I  think at the  first few moments there might be the concern for privacy  and not waking up the whole village in case there was a simple explanation.

Oh so not only drugs and death but paedophilia as well.  What a heady mix.

That's a good answer when taken out of the context of what we know happened next!

Oh come on!! There was no desire for privacy as seen by the unusual drive to publicise the case as a certain abduction before the early morning news. Against all the expert advice pictures were printed and circulated and the world's media outlets were informed.

Going back to the antihistamines though I wonder if there is any significance to them not being mentionned in KM's statement? Was it GM that had hayfever?

I thought you were going to tell me what Kate did immediately after.
