Is it any wonder that members get confused about the standard and tone of posts required when every other thread appears to me to be designed solely to castigate Madeleine's family and their friends. Including this one.
It is bound to cause confusion.

Please post on topic if you can determine what that is ... " Is it any wonder..."   TY
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Between castigating McCann & friends and criticising Amaral & colleagues, is it any wonder that there seems little left to discuss?
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

Or maybe not -

Is it any wonder discussion is so limited if you as a respected poster cannot take it beyond that, particularly on a loose topic as this one is.

...initial investigators arrived at the conclusions they did?

- GM didn't make it clear up front the patio door was unsecured and that this was the door used for carrying out the checks whilst the children slept unsupervised over 5 consecutive nights whilst he and KM dined out at tapas for some 3 hours every evening.

- The emphasis was on KM's claims of the raised shutter and open window although no signs of forced entry at this window or elsewhere,

- JT claims she observed a man carrying a child away from 5A en route to her apartment.  The route she claims to have taken meant she came within touching distance of GM chatting to JW although neither observed her.

- A Glasgow based friend of the MCCanns was telling the media, within hours of MM's disappearance, that the shutter had been jemmied despite the fact there was no evidence of forced entry.
The Washington Sniper hunt was sent down the totally wrong track for months, looking for a white box van, the most ubiquitous vehicle in the United States at the time, when it was actually a myth / hearsay / bias at play.
But they picked the ball up and ran with it on the back of flawed witness testimony. Did the State Police, FBI and DHS all get it so catastrophically wrong for so long due to incompetence?
(Incidentally, if you want contentious use of tracker dogs, this case is the benchmark. Clemente and Fitzgerald contend that the bloodhound was key in finding the evidence that helped them build the very accurate profile)

I don't know anything about the above but I think trained investigators for whatever reason(s) do get fixated on pursuing false trails eg Asst Chief Constable George Oldfield and Wearside Jack is a classic example.

It happens with miscarriages of justice too where an investigator(s) forms a theory/identifies a suspect and then dismisses anything which contradicts and will even go as far as fabricating evidence to support the theory/suspect.  I guess its part of the human condition in trying to make sense of puzzles!  Confirmation bias.
Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

But I see similar in your own posts with GA.

Too much black and white and no shades of grey imo.

Imo key to the case are ingress and egress and much of what investigators were led to believe in this regard by T9 was clearly wrong.

Were they unlocked to avoid disturbing the children, to allow access to their friends or to allow Madeleine to exit and wander around the village? Was it all of the above or, as is more likely, none of them?

Is it any wonder that just as you and others feel it necessary to remind yourselves of what you think are the McCann shortcomings that to maintain a balance it is necessary to be reminded that Amaral carries quite a bit of baggage along with him too.
