Martin Ogram states here http://www.jeremybambertestimony.co.uk/martin

‘Freddie Emami, Sheila's ex boyfriend gave a statement to the police and stated that Sheila had terrible outbursts of temper, had been violent to him and that he sometimes was afraid of her and 'feared for his life.'  My point here is he SHOULD have been permitted to explain all this to the jury but was never called to give evidence – WHY?’

Why didn’t Bamber call him as a witness ?

Didn’t SC phone Farhad Emami when she was out of hospital suggesting they no longer had contact for her well being

She did, after her first spell in hospital. It seems to have lasted for only a month, however.

That may have arisen because Colin Caffell expressed concern to Dr Ferguson about what he saw as Emami's 'very strong hold over her'. He told Ferguson he had heard rumours that Emami was involved in drug-trafficking. Colin also told Stan Jones about all this. Colin thought the leaks to the press came from the police. Apparently someone blamed the typists who typed up the statements the police took. ['Rainbow's End']

According to Emami's evidence in 1985 he had known her for four years and helped to find her flat in Morshead Mansions in 1982 at the request of her father. He and Colin helped her with moving in. Colin says little about this period, perhaps because he was having problems with his relationship with Jan Flowers at the time; caused, in part, by Sheila's continuing reliance on her ex husband.

This is misleading

How long did he actually spend with SC? Was it a few weeks, a couple of months ?

They didn’t get back together though - didn’t she phone him to borrow some cash or something ?

Not sure what ‘leaks’ you’re referring to but I doubt the ‘close friend’ who tipped off Keiron Saunders about SC & heroin/methadone came from the police - this story was reported in the Sun newspaper on the 8th Aug 1985

What time was Keiron Saunders tipped off

&

What time did newspapers go to print ?

Did CC ever address this directly with Farhad Emami?

And what does CC conclude now re the ‘rumours’ about Emami and ‘drug trafficking’ ?

I don't know, but there must have been an incident or a change in behaviour which made her parents decide that she needed psychiatric assessment.

Whatever caused them to seek help from Dr Ferguson Sheila did indeed need treatment. He says she was no longer deluded nor hallucinating when she was discharged on 10/9/83, so perhaps that was what had alarmed her parents. Dr Ferguson described her as having made a partial recovery. He continued to see her as an out-patient and gave her what he describes as a low dose anti-psychotic drug.

The only involvement of her GP practice seems to have been prescribing this drug; Stelazine, which her GP describes as a major tranquiliser. It was prescribed, according to her GP, shortly after she was discharged from hospital.

Both descriptions of the drug are correct, it seems, so anti-psychotic drugs are major tranquilizers.

On 2nd August 1983 Dr Ferguson saw Sheila Caffell in Harley Street. He says that she was referred to him by her GP. [w/s 8/8/85]

Her GP, Dr Angeloglou, claims that he knew nothing about Sheila's problems until he received a report from Dr Ferguson in August 1983 informing him that she had been admitted to St Andrews Hospital on 4th August 1983.

Doctors keep records and yet these two are disagreeing about what happened when Sheila first fell ill. It looks like her parents took charge and took her straight to Dr Ferguson.

Her parents must have suspected that Sheila had problems but what convinced them to take her to Dr Ferguson we don't know.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to suggest, but I can tell you that although you can ask your GP to refer you to a private doctor, you can make the appointment without your GP referring you at all. I know for fact as I have private medical cover. When you go for your private appointment you fill out a form which asks if you’d like them to forward details of your visit to your GP, and if you tick NO, they won’t.

People use private doctors for all manner of reasons (besides speediness and better surroundings etc), and going by how private June and Nevill were I guarantee they didn’t want their local GP to know Sheila was unwell.

It could be that June and Nevill hadn’t ticked that box (NO), or when Sheila was admitted to a private hospital a mistake occurred and DR Ferguson informed her GP. Perhaps it was that she’d need medication and he was compelled to: I don’t know.

But it’s all irrelevant, really.

It would be more enlightening if it was discovered that June and Nevill had taken Jeremy to be assessed due to his behaviour...

Although Dr Ferguson recommended NHS treatment he says this was rejected by both Sheila and her parents. Her GP mentions no input into her treatment except for issuing prescriptions and reading reports sent to him by Dr Ferguson from time to time.

Of course they are.

What was the position in the 80's re private medi practioners liaising with GP's?

Why would NB and June seek professional advice re JB's behaviour?

He denies that they were ever involved except as friends, but her family and friends recall an on/off affair, with him buying her gifts. [CAL p58]

Sheila didn't use June and Nevill's GP, she used one in London where she lived.

From September 1983 to March 1985 Sheila continued to see Dr Ferguson for her mental health problems, although she did miss appointments and wasn't good at taking her medicine regularly.

In January 1985 it seems Sheila was having problems. On 1st her GP prescribed 10mg of Anafranil, a tricyclic antidepressant, at night. (New Year's Day?). On 15th this was increased to 3 10mg tablets at night. This prescription was repeated on February 27th.

Page 157 of CC's updated book he tells of a letter SC wrote him from Tokyo, when she was modelling, in which she aks him to arrange for her to see a psychiatrist upon her return.

I think SC went to Tokyo shortly after their marriage in 1977.

Certainly would, but the fact they didn't indicates that they didn't think Jeremy's behaviour pointed to any kind of illness.
