Your point being? What are you trying to suggest might have caused him, having taken them to Essex on August 4th, to return around midnight of the 6th/7th when he was due to pick them up on the 8th?

There is absolutely no motive. I find this whole  things completely distasteful!

Well, if we accept that Jeremy was telling the truth about the argument, I guess we have to accept that he may have been telling the truth about everything else.

Because they were in the thick of having an argument over the custody of Colin's children,  Surely he needs to be involved.  Wasn't Colin planning on taking them to Norway that week?

There were two phone calls to WHF that evening both noted the tension present.

5 people died that night all could be capable of ringing Colin Caffell and let him know there was a discussion going on where they were discussing the fostering of his children.  There was nothing stopping CC from turning up in person that night.
