If OG has been pursuing other 'suspects', would this mean they've been wasting their time, given the Germany are certain that they've got their man ?
Not necessarily - there may be a connection between the two.  Or the Germans may have the wrong man.  All leads should be followed up and investigated imo.  Did you watch the programme about the American highjacker who was never traced?  DB Cooper.  It was quite fascinating.  At least 4 plausible suspects who seemed to fit the bill but no definitive answer as to his actual identity.  I have a horrible feeling this case may end up going down a similar route....I hope I'm wrong.

According to journalist Martin Brunt the MET has recently had another suspect in its sights.  Anyone know anything about this?

Other suspects

Suspects in the Madeleine McCann investigation have come and gone over the years since she vanished after being left sleeping in the family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in May 2007.

Just before paedophile Christian B became the main suspect in the Madeleine McCann case, police were pursuing a quite different theory.

It focused on another suspect in another country and involved a delicate undercover operation. I don't know if that investigation is entirely over, but I think it would be wrong to describe Christian B as the only suspect in this case.

In fact, one source told me that Christian B may be no better a suspect for Madeleine's abduction than two other principle targets.

They are the unnamed suspect, who may still be the subject of an undercover operation, and Euclides Monteiro, a sacked Ocean club waiter and thief who died two years after Madeleine vanished and was later eliminated from the inquiry.

Brunt doesn't say recently... From what I've heard from several sources is that CB became the prime suspect two years ago

Then it’s equally baffling why after two years intensive investigation still not one charge has been laid against him.

Interesting though that the rape charge and Brueckner’s name coming forward seem to have happened at the same time.

Some people seem to be under the impression that once a suspect comes onto the radar that building a watertight case against them follows soon after.  Sometimes it can take years but some prosecutions to be brought but some people don't seem to understand that.

I have long thought that Madeleine was stolen to order for a childless couple whose homeland isn't Portugal.

Brueckner could have done that, so I am not entirely giving up on this idea.

Although it could have been done by any number of people.

In my opinion there has been a firm thread running through the investigation from the start of German  connections, such as sightings from at least one campsites of a little girl who looked like Madeleine in the company of a German speaking family.

Hewlitt, who was camped close by when Madeleine disappeared, took his family and their German mother to Morocco in his white camper apparently bought for him by an acquaintance.  Having sold the blue one he owned on May 3.  Who looked closely at the six blonde blue eyed children he had with him the eldest only five? or noticed whether or not there was an additional one?

Brueckner was domicile in Luz at the time of Madeleine's disappearance.  He had all the necessary attributes to enable him to commit a crime like that either alone or with others.

I don't think we are going to have to wait for too long to know what Wolters thinks he knows.  Until then there is no reason to cease hoping on Madeleine's behalf.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Exactly.

This what I banged on about a few years ago. The fact that it seems likely that Hewitt had Madeleine 'poorly and asleep' (actually drugged) in bed in his van with another 5 blonde children milling around in his van when it was craned aboard a ship to Morocco from Faro.  [This was in the correct period after Madeleine vanished, but I don't remember the exact date and IIRC it was said that he packed up quickly..  Did he get a phone call?; a summons ?]

After a 160 mile sail, probably disembarking at the Spanish port of Ceuta, in Morocco.

Ceuta (area about 2 square miles) is a  little enclave of land in Morocco that belongs to Spain.  (Like the UK have Gibraltar in Spain)

With the Schengen agreement, coming from Faro in Portugal, there would be No customs on arrival at Ceuta in Morocco.  It would just be a matter of unload from ship and drive off.   Then just follow a quiet route into Mainland Morocco

I believe that Hewitt drove south for approx. 35 miles and dropped Madeleine off somewhere near Zinat in the Rif Mountains.  Remember the photograph, being carried on a wo/mans back in a sling?  Near here she was looked after for a period.

Hewitt, now with money in his pocket, drove another 25 miles to Chefchaouen where he settled down and smoked kif.

A phone call came and he swiftly packed up and drove back North.   This phone call coincides with the sighting of Madeleine.    Did he pick Madeleine and her Moroccan lady keeper/s up, to take them back to port and sail elsewhere ?

Hmm, I wonder ?
Hewitt is on record as having said that he had seen Madeleine, but he didn't abduct her.

There was a reported alleged sighting of Madeleine at a Market in Fnideq just 2 miles from the border with Cueta.  This seems pretty pertinent too.

Hewlett and the people who met him have been checked out long ago, these are old musings.

OG claims Maddie could still be alive but the Germans think different...they can't both be right.  This sharing of information isn't going very well but then as there's nothing to share...

So many suspects and so many rumours. On and on it goes. No wonder people think the authorities are chasing shadows.
