In what?
everyone and everything even remotely connected to this case, to the point of looking up female colleagues of HCW on a website and noting when they are removed from web pages.

No more than Clarke in his research I'd say.
At least he has a direct connection to the case, and it's his career - investigative journalism.

One makes a living the other doesn't so that precludes any interest ?

There's no point in discussing the case if you don't know the details imo. (Although a lot of people do)

Please tell me what is the point of knowing whether or not one of HCW's female colleagues features on a a German PP website or not?

That's not what I said though is it?  We are not talking about "interest" we are talking about checking on the status of a female colleague of Hans CW on some obscure German website, which goes beyond interest in the case into, well, what?  Obsession borne out of sheer boredom I suspect.

Think what you like, nobody cares. Looking at a public website is nothing, imo, compared to those who stalk innocent girls on facebook and post their photos in forums.

I don't do that, so don't drag others' behaviour into it.  I have already made my feelings on that sort of thing quite plain.  And don't pretend to speak for everybody.  I will think what I like, and I doubt I am alone in my viewpoint.

‘Stalk innocent girls …’. 🙄 You do realise what the implications are of (a) public facebook profile(s) with no privacy settings?

Didn't the PJ leave at around 3:00 AM.  Some CSI returned the next day to take fingerprints etc, but would that stop them from taking their personal stuff.

They returned to finish what hadn't been done the night before by the Police Technical Team in attendance.  For example taking fingerprints from the outside of the shutter.

I think it is highly probable that they were able to retrieve clean underwear and clothing as the crime scene photos had already been taken showing everything in situ.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

If you follow the link I gave you will see that their personal stuff was still there when the Lisbon team took their photos. They wouldn't have been allowed in there before the team from Lisbon had finished.

Was it dark when the Lisbon team arrived to take photographs.

It's not his investigation is why. Another interesting snippet is that there are three regional police forces involved in different parts of the investigation; Stendal & Halle being the others. Wolters knew little about the items found in Brueckner's box factory because it was in the jurisdiction of the police in Halle in the region of Sachsen Anhalt. He said he didn't know exactly what they found and suggested Clarke contact them. He did, but they said little and "basically passed the buck back to Wolters"
page 419

I looked at the Braunschweig prosecutor's website looking for Wolter's female colleague. There are now no names or photos displayed, but there were the last time I looked.

Interesting.

His motive behind the cartoon was puzzling.  Perhaps identification was it.

Rather than skim reading to enable a few disparaging comments on Jon Clarke's book, I've started at page 1 and am working my way through on what is a busy Sunday.

The book is shaping up very well indeed the further I get into it.  I can see why Jon Clarke has ruffled quite a few sceptic feathers but there is a lot more in what he has to say than bothering about that..

I’m enjoying it too, particularly the bit where he lays into creepy Peter Mac.  @)(++(*
