Neither the Greeks nor the Germans were desperate to solve the disappearance of a foreign child in a completely different country.  There was absolutely no pressure on them to do so, no time or resources previously spent investigating it, your theory is completely illogical.   Ironically the one police force who might have something to gain from stitching up a patsy seem less gung-ho to name CB as their chief suspect.  How do you account for that?

Every police force in the world would have an interest in solving the most famous missing child case in history so stop being silly.

As to your question, perhaps Portugal actually want to seen the case solved and know Brueckner isn’t their man?
Brietta posted on 10/04/2022 “But whether or not that is the reason behind the delay I am certain that Brueckner's trial is going to take place.”

Let’s count the months, shall we?

It may have been nice to solve the case but they were under no obligation or expectation to do so.  You dont think hundreds and thousands  of lowlifes have made false claims about this and other high profile unsolved crimes to police forces all around the world over the years?  You claimed they wanted to solve this particular crime by any means possible, including by deception (to the public)  and bribery (to the criminal), it makes no sense at all and it’s you who should stop being so silly.  Also, I was not referring to the PJ but to the Met.  Why haven’t they seemingly fully embraced CB as the patsy you believe him to be?

What was Busching’s claim? That he found a tape that DIDN'T show the rape that Brueckner was being investigated for?
Question is did Busching go to the police or did they seek him out? Once again Busching offers the police unverifiable evidence long after he claims the events happened.
Wait, so you think maybe the police identify the hair as belonging to CB and then go looking for one of his known associates and bribe him to make up a story about a rape video?   *%87

It’s simple.  Busching tells the police he sees a guy in a video he can name committing a rape in the Algarve which resembles a known unsolved rape in the same locale and when the DNA evidence from the crime is compared to that of the guy Busching says was committing the rape on video, it matches.  Got it now?

He’s not.

His word is not only tainted by the circumstances in which he gave the police the information but also by the copious amount of, paid, interviews he has given to the tabloids.

Incidentally how could the Portuguese KNOW CB didn’t commit the crime?  That suggests they have exculpatory evidence that clears him, do you believe this to be the case?  If so, why haven’t they shared this with the Germans?  Come on now, please accept that what you have written is nonsensical.

Doesn’t appear that they’ve got very far. Isn’t this the very same information that they appealed for over 2 years ago?

It was updated 11th October so clearly no charges if at all anytime soon.

On the other hand, if individuals KNOW Brueckner is innocent it rather suggests they KNOW for certain who the individual is who did commit the crime against Madaleine.

The link Barrier has provided suggests the German investigation is not blind to the fact others may be complicit "Furthermore, there is reason to assume that, in addition to the perpetrator himself, there are other people who have specific knowledge of the possible course of events and, if applicable, where the corpse was deposited. We expressly ask these people to get in touch and share their knowledge."
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Well of course as far as sceptics like Faith are concerned the PJ KNOW the McCanns dunnit, but it makes you wonder how they know and why they haven't shared the vital evidence which proves it and which lets CB off the hook.  Very mysterious I'm sure, seeing as how every police force in the world is apparently so desperate to solve this case that they will engage in bribery and corruption in order to do so.

Do you know anything at all about the conduct of this case?

Apparently not.

It is clearly stated that charges against Brueckner are not going to happen on a whim.  It will happen if and when the German prosecution service decide such action is appropriate as they continue their investigation into Madeleine's case.
In response to a report that police in Germany were hoping to bring charges by Christmas, Hans Christian Wolters, public prosecutor in Braunschweig, Germany, told Express.co.uk: "No, this report is misinformation. I can say for sure that we will not conclude the investigation into Maddie this year. I cannot predict whether this will be the case in 2023."
He said there is no likelihood Brueckner will be charged by Christmas in connection with Maddie's disappearance and murder, adding: "There will definitely be no charge this year. Whether there will be a charge at all, and if so when, is completely open."

Internet sleuths like you are entitled to voice their uninformed opinions as debating points.  The real work is being carried out by professionals who know what they are doing and probably who don't give a fig what uninformed debaters are playing with.  Particularly since they know nothing of any value.

Tell me Barrier ~ do you applaud the joint police work (inclusive of Operation Grange's) which might result in Diana M's brutal rapist being kept off our streets for a further stint should any of the five sex offences he is charged with be proven.  Or do you think they shouldn't have bothered and leave him to resume roaming free when his time served for Diana's rape is up?

Madelaine's case is one of the most complex in the world.  Whoever was involved has had over fifteen years to destroy the evidence whether from behind bars or in person.  Which rather puts into perspective the mentality of those who have known about 'the German paedophile' (courtesy of Amaral and Saunokonoko's podcast) only since December 2019 and found out it was Brueckner in April 2020, agitating because charges have not yet been laid against him in November 2022 for Madeleine's murder.

I think it is well beyond time to join in with the real world and let the Germans clean up this monumental mess without the characteristic 'let or hindrance' from internet sleuths.

Never. You can take that to the bank, because Madeleine simply wasn't abducted. That much is obvious.

My opinion is that the sceptic angst against Operation Grange which they have lumped into "the remit" in the tone used by presenters Tess and Claudia when they say "the Judges" in the 'strictly come dancing' tv programme, tells us all we need to know about them.  And it is a less than salutary spectacle.

ALL the factors which Grange initially uncovered had always been there.  Just nobody had looked for them or had the experience to know what they were if they had.
  • Dr Totman wasn't found at the time proving the criticism that material witnesses had been overlooked
  • Assaults perpetrated on children by an invader to their holiday homes were ignored
  • CCTV which might have been relevant was not checked out until after the tapes for the relevant time had been erased
  • The real significance of the phone dump was not apparent until Operation Grange checked it
  • Christian Brueckner was on police radar but was not followed through
Operation Grange has carried out exemplary work which has been justified by the fact that there is possibly little left for them to do all these years later.
I think their "remit" has been carried out with confidence in what they were doing and at some time in the future when looked back upon, I think it will be viewed as a shining example of British policing at its best.

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Shining example of Britain's best.
They had all that abduction evidence to hand, but instead it took one crook to grass on another. Excellent police work there.

Do you bother reading links not from the beloved brit rags. They cannot place him in Luz, Wolters told MWT back in May , still the same today , they don't even know the time of the crime only a presumption. They also assume some one else knows, makes an ass out of u and me.

As part of the clarification of the circumstances of the crime, it is particularly important to determine the actual whereabouts of the accused at the presumed time of the crime, which is between 9:10 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on the day of the crime.

Furthermore, there is reason to assume that, in addition to the perpetrator himself, there are other people who have specific knowledge of the possible course of events and, if applicable, where the corpse was deposited. We expressly ask these people to get in touch and share their knowledge.
