I confess I failed. I'd appreciate your clarifying..
My use of the genitive plural of the word dogs to be precise.

There you go again Gilet, blaming others.  Why are you now denying your claim that Anne said she received death threats?  Are you backtracking Gilet?
Please reread more carefully.
Then you will see you have misread and I have retracted nothing, merely explained the joke you missed over the plural of the word.

So it is a joke now?  Apparently it is on you if you get my meaning Gilet.

I notice from the mods board that you spend yesterday calling Anne a liar.  Have you apologised yet?

Liars come in all shapes and sizes. No profession is without them.

I was going to bed when suddenly your genitive plural (I would say plural genitive) killed the sleeping mode in me. I had to check. What genitive form is there in your sentence ?
It is most appropriate that those who profess to believe without question the barks of the dogs are evidence, when the expert clearly states that they are not, should post with such an ingrained cynicism on other issues.

Another piece of front page sensationalism by the Great British Press intended only to fill the coffers of [Name removed] Desmond.  Shall we look at the reality shall we?

Back 6 years ago the vast majority of mobile phones used in Europe were analogue and most of the Sim cards used in them were never registered.  It was the age of the throw away Sim.   Scotland Yard might very well have received telephony records from the various service providers in the Luz area but without registration they are meaningless.  Looking for a needle in a haystack doesn't even go there.

Another reality my dears is that serious criminals and child abductors fall into that category have not been in the habit of registering their Sim cards for obvious reasons.  Thus we have a quandary for SY in the matching of the calls to the individuals who made and received them.  A neat trick which I fear they will never pull off for all the reasons previously stated.  And it was all going so well too.......   8)><(

Is it at all likely that certain things could be inferred - such as the number of people involved in a particular episode - from a pattern or patterns of calls made at at given times?

In order that you do not yourself bring discredit upon your claim to be a grammarian, I would ask that you reconsider the content of the post you have made.

Firstly if you were to insist upon the phrase "plural genitive" rather than the correct "genitive plural" then you would be going somewhat against the grain and showing a lack of fluency in English as the normal usage is the form I have used.

Secondly your inability to apparently recognise the genitive plural phrase within the sentence is quite incredible as it is in the prepositional (partitive) construction common in both French and Portuguese rather than the  apostrophe 's' construction which is also used in English. For you not to recognise that "the barks of the dogs" is a partitive genitive construction is quite shocking for one who supposedly prides herself on her knowledge of grammar particularly in Romance languages where that construction is so widely used.

You can notice what you like. It is frankly none of your business.

As for the joke being on me. The very fact that you have clearly not yet understood the joke stands your claim upon its head.

Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley said the revelations in the Crimewatch documentary would throw a “substantially different” light on the case.

He said: “It’s not just a bland ‘can you help us’ appeal. There is different material and a different understanding to be presented. There is new information not previously presented – fresh, substantive material.”

Mr Rowley said the documentary was “significant” for the McCanns because it would show the couple working with police.

He said: “In view of the history of this case and how the McCanns were presented originally this is the first time they will have sat alongside police officers. From their perspective it is quite significant.”

I am neither salt nor gulliblle (sic). However, I thank the Lord that I am literate.

Perhaps that is because i was studying at age 11 instead of throwing embarrassing toddler tantrums?

Or perhaps it is that I left home at age 18 and became a university student (instead of simply sitting at home letting mummy and daddy look after me)?

That is a hopeful sign and (I am afraid) quite a blow to those who are dedicated to denying the McCanns their due rights as the parents of a missing child.
