Yes it is perfectly clear that Stephen25000 is once again trying to disrupt a thread and post off topic material. I hope moderators recognise this fact and remove these off topic posts.

I have opened a new thread to deal with the issues he raises.

This is not off topic, and not disruption.

However, my posts are directly relevant.

Why are you afraid of them ?

Madeleine McCann investigation police vet every phone call made from resort....

This is proper policing..proper investigation. Why didn't the PJ do this...because they were convinced the parents had done it

And who knows whether the PJ are right or wrong?  Not you, for one. Not I, for another. Whilst something remains unresolved, both possibilities remain. If you're still clinging to SY's "persons of interest" line then you're really not up to speed on how police forces work.

I have always thought it frankly crazy that people still think the editors of our red tops are just sitting at a phone waiting for Clarence to give them their headline for the day - ludicrous

The Express  ( and remember this is the paper that paid out 1/2 mil + costs ) will print what they like - If Desmond thought that there was any chance that the McCann's were involved then believe me they would get both barrels

I do think that at least SY is getting down to some derailed forensic police work - phone records in todays digital world can reveal a lot - you  would be surprised how many crims get caught by being careless with calls - even throw away phone numbers leave a trail

will this reveal the culprits - not sure but a little bit closer than last week

will this make any diff to the libel l trial - doubt it . The judge doesn't read the express or the forums !!

My own prediction on libel trial is that the McCann's will get some hollow victory but no dosh - nominal figure and then both parties walk off claiming victory

Excellent post.

I am not sure I agree with your prediction about the trial but am wholly in agreement with your depiction of the idea of Mitchell dictating to the press as madness.

Here we go again.

Prove it was a bungled investigation.

For goodness sake, it wasn't only Amaral who believed her parents covered up what happened to Madeleine.

In regards to the OP, any new information can only be a good thing. Though waiting till the 14th will be hard, the suspense is already killing me!

I'm not going to read too much in to the timing of this, in just the same way as I won't read too much in to the libel trail being postpones on the day Dr Mccann wanted to testify.  Without concrete evidence to the contrary, the simplest explanation is probably the right one.

I would like to know what usual practice is regarding information in a missing person case. Is it normal to divulge leads like this? Is this case so unusual that normal practice doesn't apply?

Interesting choice of word... "ludicrous".  Anyhow, the McCann media machine knows they can get a story in the press when they need to. Why this surprises anyone is, in itself, surprising. The timing of this release is not in the slightest bit accidental.

The Express  ( and remember this is the paper that paid out 1/2 mil + costs ) will print what they like - If Desmond thought that there was any chance that the McCann's were involved then believe me they would get both barrels
No they wouldn't. Not until/unless they could prove it. "thought that" is beyond doubt, I think he thinks they're both in it up to their eyeballs. Will he print it? not a chance in hell until there is more evidence/proof he can use to defend himself.

I do think that at least SY is getting down to some derailed forensic police work - phone records in todays digital world can reveal a lot - you  would be surprised how many crims get caught by being careless with calls - even throw away phone numbers leave a trail
Stupid crims get caught this way, yes. All we have to hope is that said stupid crims made some revealing phone calls/text messages and, more to the point, that the collected evidence of said data is admissible in court. Sadly this is not always the case and with Portugal's odd data collection laws, this may never happen.

Now, to get to what you were talking about - yes throwaway phones leave a trail. Not one that is helpful in any way, shape or form in 99% of cases, but if there was a huge increase in traffic from unregistered phones in the direct vicinity of Praia da Luz at the relevant time then that may indicate something even if it cannot be directly traced anywhere.

will this reveal the culprits - not sure but a little bit closer than last week
Yes indeed.

will this make any diff to the libel l trial - doubt it . The judge doesn't read the express or the forums !!
It can't make any difference to the libel trial! Talk sense. "Stop the trial! The McCanns have made a press release!"

My own prediction on libel trial is that the McCann's will get some hollow victory but no dosh - nominal figure and then both parties walk off claiming victory

It's a possibility that the book could be ruled to have infringed on their civil rights, I agree.  There is no way in a month of Sundays that you can separate out the damage they caused themselves from the alleged damage caused by the book alone, nor quantify it.

Why was it bungled. Why is Amaral bent?  What is your evidence for either claim?

You can notice what you like. It is frankly none of your business.

As for the joke being on me. The very fact that you have clearly not yet understood the joke stands your claim upon its head.

I am finding you more remarkable by the day Gilet.  After all the abuse you rolled out yesterday you have the audacity to now turn round and say it was a joke??  I'm afraid my dear you have let yourself down very badly.

Why is the choice of word, "ludicrous" so interesting to you?

Just a shame that you have posted no evidence of your speculation about this being non-accidental timing and that the McCanns control the media in the way you suggest. Is there any?

No they wouldn't. Not until/unless they could prove it. "thought that" is beyond doubt, I think he thinks they're both in it up to their eyeballs. Will he print it? not a chance in hell until there is more evidence/proof he can use to defend himself.

Again pure speculation on your part. You have no idea what anyone in any newspaper thinks. And you seem to forget that the Express is not the only paper posting about this and that other papers are still very gung-ho about making unsupported claims.

Stupid crims get caught this way, yes. All we have to hope is that said stupid crims made some revealing phone calls/text messages and, more to the point, that the collected evidence of said data is admissible in court. Sadly this is not always the case and with Portugal's odd data collection laws, this may never happen.

And yet it may happen. But if we followed your negativity there would be nothing to offer the court anyway. That would be more than a shame if such was indeed available and no-one had bothered to analyse the data.

But if said unregistered phones suddenly turned up in London or Rotterdam or Berlin or some such place and local police were able to trace the calls to a location where a current suspect (for other reasons maybe) lived, then it could be a real breakthrough. Again your unwillingness (rather like the PJ) to go that extra mile for a missing little child would deny any such breakthrough before it even had the chance to exist.

Yes indeed.

So you may believe, but you do not have a full grasp of the law or the experience of a senior judge so we should really wait and see what she decides shouldn't we instead of just guessing what might happen?

That is a hopeful sign and (I am afraid) quite a blow to those who are dedicated to denying the McCanns their due rights as the parents of a missing child.

Did Madeleine have rights??  The right to be properly looked after.....the right not to be abducted??
