And that's what's important, isn't it ?

It doesn't really matter to you supporters  that Madeleine may have been passed around by a paedophile ring or killed when she was of no further use to them. As long as the McCanns aren't implicate everything else is 'positive news', isn't it !

Justice for Madeleine

Justice for the McCanns

The truth of what happened to Madeleine.

We know that neither Kate and Gerry nor any of their friends had anything to do with Madeleine's disappearance.

Kate and Gerry in particular learning the truth (whatever that might be) would be one, big, step.

A second (and incalculably valuable) added bonus would be to see Madeleine reunited, safe and well, with her loving family.

But let's get to the truth as the first step first.

I would point out that a 'reconstruction' is based on the known facts. What crimewatch provides are actually 'dramatisations', i.e what the police think may have happened. Two totally different things.

The McCanns and their friends would not take part in a reconstruction, for whatever reason.

They are however prepared to take part in anything where they are able to exercise some editorial control.

Read into that what you will.

The purpose of the two types of reconstruction seems to be quite different: the Portuguese type seems more for internal use, whereas the Crimewatch one seems to be more orientated towards trying to trigger the memories of potential witnesses.

SY have to be seen to be doing something after the resources they have squandered on the Madeleine case thus far.  Remember that David Cameron has become personally involved in this case for some unknown reason so SY will be keen to please their political masters regardless.

A point about the mobile telephones.  Even if through some miracle they were able to identify those involved, proving it is yet another matter since telephone conversations are not recorded.

Its normal to be cynical after all the rubbish printed over six years.....I dont respect any press report these days unless it prints facts and most journalists are utterly incapable of doing so, Im sure most of them left school with no qualifications whatsoever

I don't see the problem.

We don't even know what exactly they want members of the public to try to remember. There could be details which might have seemed insignificant at the time but which may now be considered potentially important in the light of the analysis thus far. Some of it may simply be to eliminate other possibilities under consideration.
