Kate talked about Madeleine being exhausted on the very day she disappeared but never explained why. I will tell you why.
Madeleine was dumped in the crèche as per usual while mummy and daddy did their own thing. Unbeknownst to them Madeleine was down at the beach sobbing her heart out in the lap of a stranger, a nurse, because she was afraid to go out in a boat. And then we hear that she also questioned her mother that same morning about being left alone in the apartment.
And still they abandoned her!
Dumped in the crèche.
I have never used the crèche facilities myself, but have been away on holiday with people who have. Actually their children begged them to go. Lots of the children seemed to be going and my friends children wanted to join in with them.
They put on little plays and did lots of other activities which they loved.
My friends have taken their children away on holidays to the seaside and abroad to a holiday typical of the one the McCann's went on.
The children have enjoyed both holidays equally.
So I don't think dumping the children in the crèche is a very appropriate description here.
If the children didn't want to go, as all children they would kick up a fuss and not want to go.
By all accounts the children were enjoying themselves.
As for crying in the lap of the nanny, well as Kate said Madeleine had said that evening that she had had the best day ever and that she was having lots of fun. So maybe she was apprehensive about the boat ride to start with no doubt she enjoyed it.
