The "breaking noise" is interesting. What happened to that witness? Has she been interviewed?

Never heard this before.

And who is the man to whom she related this story?

I don't know. All we have is what jornalist JM writes in Sunday Express 22 May 2011
Quote
A British man at the tapas bar where the McCanns dined gave a statement saying how he spoke to an English woman who told him she had heard a "breaking noise" about the time that Madeleine was taken.
Presumably they mean a man who dines at Tapas that night?
Where did Express get this information from?
Does "gave a statement" mean the man gave a statement to police (LP/PJ)?
Or does it mean the man gave a statement to the unofficial private investigators???

Exactly, very vague.

I certainly don't remember reading about such a statement in the files, though perhaps Redblossom, keeper of all knowledge, or another person of encyclopedic mind, can enlighten us.

What if the man's statement was to PIs, and somehow accidentally got filtered out and never passed to police?

It would be easy for SY to check very quickly by simply asking the journo for the source of the "breaking noise" info.

SY ask journos? Youre havng a laugh!!!

they write whatever they want..they have a licence to obfuscate and lie...fact.....mostly under orders of the hgher liars......some of which are now in court for perverting the course of justice...... it would be fabulous if SY asked them, love to be a fly  on the wall there too
