Why would I waste my time...Im not really that interested if at all, youre the one posting inanities like calpol does not help pain, is not pain relief....so why is it on the market as pain relief/analgesic? As I said never mind....
Pain is a process:
"Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage, or described in terms of such damage."
Calpol does reduce pain, just not within the Nervous system , but by chemical effect on prostaglandins in the tissue around the NS.
Rather than dousing a fire by the application of water, it stops it by cutting off the fuel.
If there are prostaglandins in the tissue, they will attach to pain receptors and pain signals will be sent. Paracetamol chemically changes the prostaglandins which stops them attaching to the pain receptors and stops signals being sent without actually intervening in the NS. On the other hand, analgesics attach to the neurons and block the prostaglandins attaching. This affects the neurons which is why opioids may be addictive and sedative whereas paracetamol is not!
