It really depends davel. My Nana did the same with my Dad and his brother, but that was 63 years ago.

 that's exactly the response I expected and its true...so when did it become unsafe...
I remember reading Gerry saying that PDL felt like the UK 50 yrs ago...SAFE....that's why they left the children..it felt  safe....how wrong they were.
