Harrison recommended that the dogs be deployed where Madeleine, either was known to have been or, conceivably, might have been.

He did not recommend searches anywhere were Madeleine was known, definitely, never to have been: the Renault Scenic, the villa or the gym.
Have you a link to Prof Harrison saying "I would advise not to search there and there" ? (He would have had an excellent reason to claim this : sparing the dogs).
Do you remember where Prof Harrison recommended to send the dogs to ?
Don't you think that the result could have slightly affect the next searches ?

Its a total waste of time really though trying to get people to understand this lol.
I find it fascinating. Likely some posters don't..

What an excellent point.

I have a link (I have produced before) of where Harrison distances British involvement from searches he had nothing to do with; and acknowledges British involvement in those searches he recommended:

The timeline of these searches was as follows:

On 31-07-07 the PJ conducted canine searches with a search warrant at apartments in Praia da Luz that had been previously occupied by the McCanns and their friends.

On 01-08-07 the PJ and GNR assisted by a canine, conducted searches on the eastern beach and wasteland in Praia da Luz.

On 02-08-07 the PJ conducted a search warrant at a villa in Praia da Luz currently occupied by the McCann family.

Later the same day PJ officers conducted a screening procedure involving items removed from the McCann’s villa.

On 03-08-07 PJ and GNR officers were given instruction based on translated extracts from NPIA doctrine on search management and procedures. This focused on search procedures relating to buildings and vehicles.

On 04-08-07 and 05-08-07 a search warrant was executed at the villa and gardens belonging to the PJ suspect Robert Murat. This search involved both PJ and GNR personnel supported by civil defence, geophysical equipment operators and a canine handler.

On 06-08-07 ten vehicles were searched associated to the enquiry.

On 07-08-07 the western beach and remaining wasteland areas were searched using canine and GNR personnel.

On 08-08-07 the drains around the apartment block where Madeleine McCann disappeared from were subject to a visual inspection by PJ officers.

Harrison recommended searches in: the holiday apartments, areas in and around PdL and the Murat's place.

In all those searches, Harrison acknowledges UK canine input.

But none of the others.

There should be only one thing that matters here. Why the dog barks? And it's not because Martin Grime has called him back to the car.
Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

...because Martin Grime has called him back to the car.

You acknowledge he did?

An improvement.

The rest of the answer is to be found in Gerry's blood and (in the apartment) perhaps Paul Gordon's blood (the shaving cut).

Cuddlecat?

More likely an error of commission than omission.

But definitely an error ...

So if you think it's easily explainable, why are you so obsessed with the issue?

I think she may be, I can't definitely prove otherwise (which is what other people mean).

Then what does that say about the dogs alerts

If Madeleine had disappeared in Florida (or Orange County, Florida at least) and evidence of uncorroborated dog alerts had found their way into a trial (like in Casey Anthony's) they would not have been sufficient without other supporting evidence. As far as I know nobody here has ever argued otherwise.

It is the incompetent deployment of the dogs that led to unjust suspicion falling on Kate and Gerry that lingers, still, to this day.

That's why.

Yes, I know that's what you think, but you didn't answer my question from hours ago: why didn't the McCanns do anything about that, apart from write a few insulting lines in their book?

You keep quoting tis but have failed to answer on numerous occasions...what do the dogs alert prove in these cases...you don't seem to have an answer

You know Mr Grime gave evidence in at least one trial since PdL, and at least one, separate pretrial - both in the US. Lawyers in both courtrooms will have been well aware of Mr Grime's past work, so can you show that any of them had any concerns about his work in Portugal?

Mr Grime has been in courtrooms, ferryman - since 2007. He's been tested. Yours theories about his performance haven't, and they have no credibility unless you can show experts or lawyers who share them.
