SY think it was because they are now searching for the body.

Actually the options remain open on that.

NSY have stated that they are looking for a child who may still be alive.

Do you suggest that because a dog barked, possibly at blood which had nothing to do with anything, they should throw in the towel and stop trying to find out what did happen to her?

Wouldn't the perpetrator/s just love that.

Try reading the thread Slarti

The initial training of the dog was conducted using human blood and
stil born decomposing piglets.

http://www.mccannpjfiles.co.uk/PJ/MARTIN_GRIMES.htm

Eddie was trained with dead pigs and he will alert to them ... He was conditioned to alert to them

Simples.

Why don't you read the thread. One of your lot Anna claimed a sausage could cause an alert while the rest of you leaped on a cube of pork which IMO is a easier to say than cube of decomposing pig. I have just countered that argument, it's called debate.

I like the dogs.  I like them very much altho they could have chosen American dogs that  were not trained on decomposing pigs.  That would have been better.

Grime made a mistake or two.  We all make mistakes .... I am not complaining about that, so long as he accepts that and makes the necessary amendments if called in evidence , which aint gonna happen in reality IMO.

What is truly wrong is Amaral and Cos inability to

1)  Accept that he misunderstood the lack of forensics and what that means.  That is putting it politely tbh.
and
2) The way you sceptics believe his every word like you have been brainwashed.    You keep hanging on to myths and believing Amaral against all the expert stuff you have read on here.   Grime makes it clear that alerts mean nothing without the corresponding forensics backing the alerts.

Let me remind you.   Amaral is a criminal and he was found guilty of perjury.  Therefore he has proven himself as a liar.

Why do you continue to believe a proven liar over all the facts presented on here?

The forensics found NOTHING to indicate that Madeleine had died in 5A

Did you bother to watch all of the video on the link posted by Brietta a few days ago? Not only watch but inwardly digest and assimiliate?

Back to the apartment inspections......5A was inspected/searched by the dogs for approx 25 min (garden and balcony not included in the time taken as it was done later).
All other apartments were searched for approx.  2-4 mins each in what appeared IMO to be a rushed fashion.
This is seen in the extended video further back in the topic. Please correct me if I am wrong

I don’t think the apartment searches were carried out with the same diligence that 5a was given.

Also there is nothing showing the search of the Murat villa, despite the fact that at the time he was the sole arguido in the case.
I would find it extraordinary if that video had not also been given into the hands of the same person who released the files and the McCann related videos into the public domain.  Obviously release of the Murat video would have been a distraction from the objective of smearing the McCanns.

We know that the Portuguese were unfamiliar with using either video or audio recordings when taking statements; these videos lead me to suspect they were similarly ill equipped when it came to filming in the field.

There is no indication of exactly what is being filmed where and when.
Therefore it is impossible to determine what has been left in or even edited out of sequence and what has been left out.  IMO they could never have been presented in evidence unless the original unedited version contains that information.

What does that matter? They have been used as a very effective instrument with which to pillory and accuse Madeleine’s parents.
I think the reasons for that have to run deeper than trying to substantiate a stupid theory in a stupid book.

Did Eddie alert in the Murat residence?

Does anyone know?

I don't think he did.

He alerted in 5a though, didn't he.

Hmmm ... if you refer to the UCS video, you and I are obviously reading different things into it ... I saw nothing to refute what Sadie has said in her post.
On the contrary, what she has said is substantiated.

There you go.  Different people take different messages away from an educational video ... just depends on their initial bias ... Lecturers DESPAIR! don't bother ~ we know it all to begin with.

So we are told.

Unfortunately no-one can say to what (apart from unrelated blood behind the couch).

I did not claim that a dog would alert to a sausage. I was simply curious and wondered if anyone else had the same thoughts on the possibility after reading the part of MG's.... burnt cube of pork exercise, which the dog alerted too.
It was a question(see question mark) to anyone with the same problem understanding this, or better still.....an explanation

I thought debate, questions and discussion, to find the truth (not myths)  is what this forum was about.
It seems that some have set their minds on what happened and are not interested in any other possibilities or evidence that may arise, that is contrary to their beliefs.

As for the dogs....I love dogs and I think the police victim recovery dogs, do a great job at doing what their Title tells you they are trained to do.

The lack of time spent with the dogs in the apartments other than 5A, could possibly be why no blood (or anything else)was found in them, after all there must have been incidents of bleeding in those apartments at some time or another................but none found.
The interest in searches seems to have been concentrated on the living quarters of the McCann family IMO

A minor quibble with just one word of that otherwise exemplary post: diligence

I don't think the search of apartment 5a was remotely diligent, just long-drawn out ...

The forensics found NOTHING to indicate that Madeleine had died in 5A

Forensics found nothing in the Harron case until Eddie saved the day  8)--)) In the bedroom where he alerted she lain for 1 hour. Forensics found nothing!

Thanks for the reminder that Eddie is not to blame for the way he was handled in PdL.

Important never to lose track of that vital point ...

Eddie doesn't bark unless he finds something. I wonder if you can show me where Grime points Eddie to go and sniff the wardrobe and alert. After all, that was the FIRST alert by Eddie. Eddie was trying to get over the top of the sofa so Grime moved the sofa out from the wall so he could get behind it. So do you think he shouldn't have let Eddie go behind the sofa after he was trying to get over the top of it? What utter nonsense!

I was thinking in terms of the explanation why pigs were used in the training of the dogs. The notion they will then alert to a bacon butty is not quite what was being explained but then I cannot hope to aspire to Goody Sadie's expertise on a variety of topics. Nor am I such a threat to any one that I am the target of drive by shootings on motorways.
