How do you know they weren't wearing them? Kate was always wearing those pants. She didn't stay in her sweaty jogging gear that's for sure.

http://www.mccannpjfiles.co.uk/PJ/KATE-MCCANN_ARGUIDO.htm  Kate Healy statement 6th Sept 07

*snip^
After David left, Kate dressed and sat with the children, Madeleine on her lap. She was wearing a top, she doesn't remember what colour it was, a green long-sleeved t-shirt, blue denim pants. Trainers (tennis shoes) and white socks.

                                                 -------------------------------------
They left by the veranda door, which they left closed but not locked. Main door was closed but not locked. She thinks it could be opened from the inside but not from the outside. She thinks she was wearing a cream coloured polar fleece with a zip, and on top a blue raincoat also with a zip. As regards Gerry, she doesn't know if he was wearing other items of clothing.

Ah! The cream sweatshirt on the bed. I had thought it was a cardigan as the opening was too small to be for trouser legs, but it could have been the sweatshirt. She sat on that bed crying with her friend.

Because it fits, pathfinder. Fits with the PJ photo of the wardrobe.

The only thing that fits in this case is 2 moves at different times. That explains everything.
Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

Bearing in mind that if it is possible the smoke detector can go off without a naked flame … it is possible that a VRD can alert in an area where there has never been a body.

Total nonsense.

The workings of a smoke alarm has absolutely ZERO relevance to the workings of a dog's trained snozzle!

The only (recorded) alert in the villa was to cuddle-cat.

None to any clothing.

The clothing was transported to the gym for heaven only knows what reason.

(Actually, I know, even if there is nothing 'heavenly' about me).

I'm not even sure about that one, ferryman.

Eddie did throw CC around (but he sure didn't alert at that stage) ... then he did a tour of the villa ... returned and barked at something or other on top of the sideboard ... did another tour ... returned and was stood down ... the cupboard door was opened and CC produced from inside.

I reckon if that episode had ever reached a court the defence would have had a field day with it ... there is a whole topic dedicated to this on the forum.

There is compelling circumstantial evidence on both sides imo. A question. Why were the McCanns so quick to attack the dog alerts? Always found this strange behaviour considering their child has vanished. I think it can be explained somewhat by the alerts near their hire car perhaps which naturally puts them on the defensive imo - sure I know there was no cadaver alert there other then the car fob which was DNA tested though of course I did not think cadaver dogs alerted to dried blood from a living person(though yes Eddie was a blood dog too) only someone who had died and keela did not alert here I believe. Some controversy there too I know. They are perceived as an unlikeable odd couple no doubt. This is partly what fuels some of the negative emotions concerning the case. Plus leaving your toddlers in an unlocked apartment and practically out of clear line of sight. That makes many very upset.

I gather eddie was trained to alert to both blood and cadaver odour.

Yes that's what I wrote...so the alerts are somewhat confusing in this situation... I have not actually watched the video in its entirety and have not watched it for a long time just repeating what I have gleaned off others here who seem to have researched this more then me...

Fair enough.

But what is the difference between dried blood from a living person and dried blood from a dead person.....?

There is a long thread Q&A on another site answered by a professional dog handler who claims that these dogs do not respond to semen/body fluids from a living person. Apparently it makes a difference whether the fluids which are expelled are from a living or a dead person...

How does a dead person expel semen?

On second thoughts dont answer that.

There is.  And this has been known for some considerable time.
