I can't help wondering if his career, infront of the camera at least, is over.

Even if it isn't , then I think it's going to be quite sometime before he makes an appearence again.

So many lives messed up from Brenda to Brunt to Bed & Breakfast owners in PDL, at the root of it all, 2 parents who put their own needs before their kids. (or did something worse).

we will soon see how good...or how pathetically bad your judgement is...Brenda Leyland was the cause of her own fate..unfortunately for her and her family

A person can only be harassed if they are aware of the comments in the first place.  As far as we know Brenda voiced her opinion as she was entitled to do but did not harass anyone let alone the McCanns.  What she did was no worse than Kate McCanns comments that Amaral should feel fear or that Paiva was a f.....g tosser.

There is no way the authorities can go after every troll who breaks the law so they hope that by making an example of the few that the many will learn from it and desist.

It seems there were those who thought they would continue to be able to avoid the consequences of their actions because so little has been done about it in the past.

There are those who may not be aware that their actions are not only immoral but actionable.

If no one was ever prosecuted for shoplifting would anyone stand in a queue at a checkout?

Perhaps an awareness that their activities may be illegal will give them pause for thought.

.....and the actions of the McCann's leaving their children by themselves in a foreign country, for several nights in a row without protection and irregular unverified checks , and let's not forget in unlocked accommodation.

Was that moral ?

What that fair on the children?

Did it have consequences ?

No I am not wrong...
Harassment (/həˈræsmənt/ or /ˈhærəsmənt/) covers a wide range of behaviours of an offensive nature. It is commonly understood as behaviour intended to disturb or upset, and it is characteristically repetitive. In the legal sense, it is intentional behaviour which is found threatening or disturbing.

If you think that 50 posts a day are comparable to two statements by Kate then your judgement is totally skewed

There was a context in which those two statements were made ... and in the opinion of many when that context is considered they were actually very restrained indeed.

No Dave, you are frequently wrong.

You are trying to excuse one set of wrongs with another.

so Kate made 2 statements when she was at a very low ebb and Brenda Leyland made 6000 posts against a  person who had never said a word about her...if you think those are comparable then you are an even bigger *********
than I ever thought. Your statement says a lot about you and others who continually harass the mccanns

Now Dave, just remind me who is responsible for this whole case ?

P.S. It wasn't  Brenda.

As regards being a ******  dave, you excel at that.

Low ebb my ass.  That book would have been proof read and checked by the publisher's lawyers several times.  The McCanns knew exactly what they were doing in having comments made about Amaral and Paiva so let's have no more stupid excuses.

.The offence is committed by sending the message. There is no requirement that any person sees the message or be offended by it
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(4) Communications which are grossly offensive, indecent, obscene or false
31. Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003 makes it an offence to send or cause to be sent through a "public electronic communications network" a message or other matter that is "grossly offensive" or of an "indecent, obscene or menacing character". The same section also provides that it is an offence to send or cause to be sent a false message "for the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another". The defendant must be shown to have intended or be aware that the message was grossly offensive, indecent or menacing, which can be inferred from the terms of the message or from the defendant's knowledge of the likely recipient. The offence is committed by sending the message. There is no requirement that any person sees the message or be offended by it.33.Every day many millions of communications are sent via social media and the application of section 1 of the Malicious Communications Act 1988 and section 127 of the Communications Act 2003 to such comments creates the potential that a very large number of cases could be prosecuted before the courts. Taking together, for example, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube, there are likely to be hundreds of millions of communications every month.
Cyber stalking
Harassment can take place on the internet and through the misuse of email. This is sometimes known as 'cyberstalking'. This can include the use of social networking sites, chat rooms and other forums facilitated by technology. The internet can be used for a range of purposes relating to harassment, for example: to locate personal information about a victim;
to communicate with the victim;
as a means of surveillance of the victim;
identity theft such as subscribing the victim to services, purchasing goods and services in their name;
damaging the reputation of the victim;
electronic sabotage such as spamming and sending viruses; or
tricking other internet users into harassing or threatening a victim. Further guidance can be found in Communications Offences, elsewhere in the Legal Guidance
http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/s_to_u/stalking_and_harassment/#a05a
This sense of the word troll and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, but have been used more widely. Media attention in recent years has equated trolling with online harassment. For example, mass media has used troll to describe "a person who defaces Internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."[5][6]
Yes, if they are discussing the case. Destroys their credibility as their recollections may be modified. Same as if a group of witnesses got together to compare stories.
Then is Dr Amaral's book illegal?
