Therein lies the rub, pegasus, people have elevated almost to sainthood this very flawed man who seems to have made a pig's ear out of his personal and his professional life ~ as attested by Sofia Leal in her open letter to Dr McCann.

Two wives have left him ... and one lover, Anne Bras, was terrorised because she was trying to sever all ties with him ... yet 'women of a certain age' seem to be attracted like a moth to a candle.

You have to admit it has a certain ring to it ... particularly as by no stretch of the imagination could Mr Amaral possibly be described as a sunbeam ... despite the beams photo shopping from his head.
