Another foreign book claiming Gerry done it!
« on: September 29, 2015, 10:36:43 PM »
"Leugens & Misleiding", is a book that has very recently been published in Holland, authored by Peter Scharrenberg.

The title translates as "Lies and Misleading".

I'm sure that you will be able to find it on the Internet, but PLEASE do NOT post the publisher's blurb, or similar, on this forum.  The forum rules do NOT allow such material and you have been clearly notified of this in advance.

The book has a central theorem that appears to be inviting the McCanns, and two other people, to sue for defamation.

And this post is simply to record the fact that yet another incredulous tale of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has been added to the repertoire.

It is possible for a writer to reach bizarre or outlandish conclusions while also having insights that may genuinely be new. Fresh eyes will one day approach this case in a way or ways we all can't see.

I hope the book is genuine and not just someone or some individuals messing about. Genuinely fresh eyes and thoughts would be interesting.

Admin advised me that if I wished to refer to this event, I should publish it in the news thread.  Plus I should seriously refrain from quoting the core theory in here, as it might be considered in breach of civil law.  Personally, I think the theorem is more likely to be seen in breach of common sense.

However, once again, I was polite and said that I would take Admin's advice.

Absolutely correct but we have decided to give it its own thread after all given its significance.  This book unashamedly libels Gerry McCann by claiming that he was the man seen carrying a child that night.  Needless to say, we will not be supporting that particular contention given the limited information still available about what occured that fateful evening.

Thank you again to ShiningInLuz for bringing this information to us, we believe it better to be published and then at least everyone knows where they stand.  One last thing though, this anonymous author might take some finding.

Thank you shinning and Admin for bringing this to our attention. I do not believe that Gerry killed his daughter, but it is interesting to read IF anyone does have a theory worth discussing.

No such thing as a bad book on the case. It'll be interesting (assuming it's genuine, and not some kind of hoax or scam).

As Gerald Mccann acknowledged, everyone is entitled to an opinion. I don't expect he broke secrecy laws or is an ex-detective, so he should be safe so long as the facts in his book are also in the PJ Files.
