An honest person answers questions honestly. It really is as simple as that.

They would probably look for the slightest inconsistency in what she said,  and twist it into 'your lying'.

Did you read that when faced with the 100% DNA instead of confessing as Amaral hoped she would,  Kate asked if Madeleine was dead,  that wasn't the answer they wanted was it.

Was this before or after Gerry and Diana had been fiddling with them?

It's a load of BS unless Gerry raised them again when he returned to the apartment. Dianne was first there and Kate was alone and she couldn't raise them so how Amy saw them raised later means somebody else started messing with them. But they were in the position where Dianne got them stuck in the crime scene pics so that shows me that witnesses are mistaken about the shutters and their imaginations are running wild.

So that would be Gerry then ?

I think it was Kate they were trying to get to confess as she was the one who found Madeleine missing.

. I didn't say any of that
All statements were available to SY when it was stated the McCanns were not suspects
That would indicate they had no concerns with them

Then I suggest that people stop asserting that those statements which they don't like, can't explain are due to faulty memory/shock. The statements should all be either accepted or rejected, not cherry-picked.

Perhaps Dianne wasn't tall enough to raise them, or strong enough maybe.

She was there very early, probably just after diane got there. Anyway she was another person who witnessed an open window.

I agree that some people's imagination are running wild. Pathfinder.

it's not cherry picking it's picking out the important bits....taken with caution due the expected translation errors

So they must have been in the down position when she got to them. Who lowered them to the position she found them in?

The fact is the police saw them in the same position Dianne raised them to when they jammed so that means to me they stayed in that position and didn't magically raise just for Amy to see.

You are entitled to believe what you wish to believe, G, but, do you think that Amy’s memory was faulty and affected by shock as well?……..

I am sure that you have already seen this, unless of course your memory has failed you too?

Excerpt of Amy T statement:-
She confirms that, on the night of the disappearance she was on duty and immediately went to the bedroom to see if the girl was hiding. She saw that the shutter was raised and that the window was partially open. It was then that she began to look in the wardrobes to see if the girl was hiding.

The first idea that occurred to her was that the girl could have left by her own means, however after checking that the window was open and the shutter raised she asked the parents whether Madeleine’s shoes were there, to which they replied that they were, these facts led her to think that Madeleine could have been taken by someone.

I have no idea what went through this witnesses head, but she claims to have seen an open window and open shutters. she also claims to have seen Gerald and Kate McCann and a female friend. the only females belonging to the group who entered the apartment were Fiona Payne and her mother. neither of them saw the open window and raised shutters.

In reply to the question asked, she said that the back door (porta das traseiras) that leads to the parking area was closed, but she doesn't know whether the front door (porta da frente) was locked as when she arrived both the parents and a female friend of theirs whose name she does not know, were there and that is why the door was open.

That would be Fiona. Fiona didn't get to the apartment until around 10:10 after Dianne had already tried lifting the shutters so Amy didn't arrive there until later. Emma Knights came at 10:20 and only Kate and Fiona were present.

The translation errors which no one could document on the thread about translation errors? Who decides which are the important bits anyway? I think the inconsistent bits are the important bits. It was partly those bits which lead to the McCanns being suspected.
