We don't know that, it's just a guess. As far as I know they didn't see a psychologist?
However. Any parent losing a child in any circumstances whatsoever would be overcome with guilt, it's perfectly natural. What it isn't is helpful. Dwelling on what was done or not done won't change anything, so I would imagine the focus of the counsellor was on trying to help the parents to understand this, to move on, and to focus on what could be done in the future. Hence their repeated statements about the abductor being the criminal, not them.
If there was an abduction that makes perfect sense. An abduction is a criminal offence. Leaving children unattended is careless and stupid, but not necessarily criminal.
Quote in red> If they did, they forgot to take him to Portugal for their TRIAL to evidence their mental state due to Amarals book.
Looks like that one is off the table, now where were we? ah, yes.
Drs are infamous for apportioning blame in all medical negligence claims, I know this to be true! It is also true that they must never accept liability for any wrong doing to paitients. Even though it is a black and white case of negligence! This forces patients to take them to civil court to claim damages. This takes years. But HR and NHS lawyers do get involved right away -damage limtation!
Drs McCANNS would be aware of this how to protect yourself against allegations even if they are true. Cold calculating Hmm...
