I don't believe that anyone has been 'ruled out'. It's supporters who keep insisting the Mccanns have been 'ruled out'. I am asking them to explain how that was accomplished.
a  perfectly valid  question imo

To rule someone out as a suspect requires irrefutable evidence of their non participation in a crime.  We do not have that in this case, all three arguidos (suspects) had that status removed because of a lack of evidence and not because they were proved innocent.

no it doesn't and no one needs to be proved innocent...they are ruled out because the evidence does not support their involvement

Just remind me of the McCanns legal status vis a vis this case?

Was I asleep when they were arrested and charged?

Every criminal in the world is legally innocent until found guilty. That doesn't stop them from being suspected and investigated though, otherwise none of them would ever be caught and punished.

Shall we run through a list of figures in history who weren't brought to trial but committed various crimes, let alone mass murder ?

You stated they were ruled out, that is incorrect.  This is a forum and not a court of law, different rules apply.

You claim the evidence dies not support their involvement but I don't agree.  The evidence as exists is neutral so cannot rule anyone out.

Being ruled out is not the same thing as not being a suspect no matter how much you like to spin it davel.

Take note of the missing child case in Idaho Falls.  The parents were initially declared not suspects but hey ho, seven months later and they are the prime suspects.  Things change, investigations move on, new evidence is revealed.

Why?

There was evidence against all them.

There is no evidence against the McCanns.

Do you seriously exclude yourself from those who were told the McCanns are not suspects?

Perhaps you do ....

Unless you can cite facts to the contrary, they were the last people to see her alive before she disappeared.

On those grounds alone,  they should still remain in the frame.

Even Mitchell said there is no evidence of a break in, in the apartment.

Gerry was in the restaurant at the time of the Smith sighting.

It is very highly likely the Smiths saw Madeleine's abductor.
