The Evening Standard has picked up on Hopkins' Mail article.

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/katie-hopkins-sparks-online-frenzy-with-attack-on-madeleine-mccanns-parents-a3185856.html

Frenzy is the right word. It is like a Taz convention in here.

a frenzy involving half a dozen posters...you need to get out more

I do it all of the time, Stephen.  I am not entirely sure that Madeleine isn't in France.

But If Katie Hopkins wants to give up on abducted children, including her own, then that's up to her.

I dread to think what her opinion of Ben Needham's mother is.    How many years has she been living in hope that she might one day find her son?  24/25yrs ?

She also fails to notice that if it wasn't for the money spent on Madeleine's case - the chances of £700,000 being allocated to our police to look into Ben's disappearance were slim to zero IMO.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

i think you might find....its not so much people would give up  ....

its the fact ..they don't believe in the abduction ...

So how do you think Katie Hopkins would feel about not being believed if such a thing should ever happen to her?

However, she certainly appears to believe that Madeleine was abducted.  How do you feel about that.

It would have been nice if Kerry Needham had got help without the government having to be shamed into it though, wouldn't it?

Well having read the Evening Standard and the Mail, the only visible frenzy is with the mccann supporters.

But I thought the consensus of opinion was that The Government were shamed into helping The McCanns.  Am I wrong about that?

I see the poll is running at 84%. that the mccanns are to blame.

There appear to be 2 versions of the story on the Standard.

So how do you think Katie Hopkins would feel about not being believed if such a thing should ever happen to her

short answer.................i doubt she will ever have to

However, she certainly appears to believe that Madeleine was abducted.  How do you feel about that.

short answer again...she had to be a bit carefull

other than that .....the point about all this ....is why now all of a sudden ....are the mccs not being protected ....against those of us who have minds of our own

will not have our intelligence insulted ....about being fed the abduction theory all the time....

Always listen to both sides of the story before you judge.

The first storyteller you will always find has modified the story, for there benefit BE WISE.

I totally agree G - and if SY decided to spend the same kind of money on Ben as they have on Madeleine - I for one would be delighted.

However it cannot be denied IMO --  that it was only because of the investigation into Madeleine's case - that £700,000 was allocated to Ben.   And surely that has to be a good thing.

Obviously Katie Hopkins would not agree - preferring to just give up on her children - and move on with her life.

That's the bit that stunned me.  Just move on.

She had to be a bit careful?  I see.  Support the bits that suit you and twist the bits that don't.

People tell us things all the time and we decide whether we believe them or not. No-one has the right to be believed as far as I know. You tell your story and people assess it and you and decide what they think. Some people have decided they don't believe what the McCanns have told them. If the same thing happened to Ms Hopkins some people may not believe her either. That's life.

A lot of people believe Madeleine was abducted. What Ms Hopkins believes is that the parents should accept their share of the blame for it, should not be promoting the Child Rescue Alert because they were neglectful parents, and should not have had £11 million of tax payer's money spent on them.

So perhaps she won't be mocking those suffering from disabilities again for a little while?

I don't think that's strictly true G.   Many people who - even though they wouldn't have done the same themselves - believe the McCanns made a human error - but also maintain that the only criminal here is the person who took Madeleine.

Of course those people who have the done the same as the McCanns themselves will obviously have a different attitude towards the Listening method of childcare than those who would never contemplate employing it in the first place.

It's a matter of choice for individual parents.
